I wasnt aware that Perry tried and executed anybody. That record (for presidents) is still held by Grover Cleveland, who personally hanged two convicted murderers as sheriff of Buffalo.
He was the last truly great president the Democrat party produced. Everyone since has ranged from merely mediocre (Truman, JFK) to bad (Wilson, FDR, Clinton) to an outright disaster (LBJ, ObaMao).

This is just another article of the wave of negative hit pieces about Perry that have started.
I assume it Texas it is the jury or the judge that sentences the person convicted of the crime.
The MSM is going to Palinize Perry now. He is not their pick to run against 0bama.
They want a weaker candidate to be on the ballot against their corrupt man child.

With so few Liberals living in Texas, they have a shortage of murderers that other more liberal states don't enjoy.
So, this is a “win-win”... He gets fewer opportunities to nail a deserving felon, but he makes more of those opportunities.

Yes, the WaPo is aghast whenever a politician does the right thing.
And yes, the WaPo seems unhappy that there aren't more murderers alive.
The WaPo is offering a glimpse at its institutional mores, just in case you didn't realize the depths of their moral turpitude.

The finally put in the 3rd to last paragraph what really happens: The Governor does not get involved in any death prosecutions or sentencing and can ONLY postpone a death sentence up to 30 days - unless the Board of Pardons and Paroles recommends a full commutation - which is rarely. Under the Constitution, the Governor cant impose a moratorium.
In other words, he happened to be Governor in a State with very tough death penalty laws, but has little authority to do much about it. A totally differnet take than the headline or first 3/4 of the article would have you think.
Now you've done it, exposed the implied lie with truth.
The Perry Apologists aren't going to take to kindly to that.
