If you are in fear of your life, you are allowed to defend yourself using deadly force. Weapons that can be concealed for carry generally hold no more than fifteen bullets. Mobs typically change direction when one of the pack is dropped. If they don't, you will be overrun.

It makes no difference how many such mob creatures are killed. They are a cancer on society. It is the harm to decent folks that matters.

I mis-read the article. I though the COPS were afraid to do anything against the flashmobs.

As far as CCW for personal protection and deadly force as an option for a citizen being attacked — I am all for it.

I understand that child soldiers can be the most vicious in the world. Young people have not learned morality, fear or compassion making them perfect shock troops. The tone of the article is such a great example of the mindset that just resulted in English riots, people dead, and no one able to defend themselves. The "flash mob" started out as a mindless prank and now that term is being used to describe violent "virtual" criminal gangs that can form through social media. And yet the reporter is worried that one of the gangs might target someone who turns out to be able to defend themselves. The horror!

You are correct. Recent history tells us that we can no longer rely on the fear of the law as a deterrent to these thugs. Eve nif the police were in the vicinity, we’ve see ntoo many cases where they simply stand by and do nothing. Won’t even correctly report the incident.

So my solution is to Kill the first few quickly and in as nasty a manner as I can manage. Hits to the pelvic girdle will accomplish wonders. If nothing else, the shock of what you’ve done will give you a few precious secoonds to achieve a better position and to haul out another magazine.

This captain is not representative of all law enforcement. He’s just the department handwringer. He may also put this face on for the media but secretly has a different mindset.

Listen, I hate working shootings as much as the next copper but I am not going to tell people they shouldn’t arm themselves as precaution against these marauders.

most people are not killers and will agonize over a decision to pop a cap into someone, but if the legal
justification exists they should not be denigrated beforehand, especially by a cop who can blow people away
