Both homosexuality and pedophilia are abnormal and pathological. Each is a disease caused by a lesion in the reproductive system.
A proclamation to the contrary--as by some organization such as the American Psychological Association--will not alter this.
Homosexuality and pedophilia are not the same.
As long as homosexuality involves only consenting adults in private, it is compensated and warrents no outside interference.
Pedophilia, on the other hand, involves an assault on children--who cannot give informed consent--and is likely to injure the reproductive system of the child in the manner of any other communicable disease. Therefore children must be protected from pedophiles.
The fact that many people can and sometimes do engage in homosexual activity does not change the fact that homsexuality is a disease any more than the fact that many people can and sometimes do drink alcohol changes the fact that alcoholism is a disease or that many people can be and sometimes are exposed to communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis) without becoming infected (i.e. without developing a lesion) changes the fact that tuberculosis is a disease.
