If Rubio is not a NBC, he won’t be the Veep.

Uh huh. Rubio is an American citizen under the same legal definition that Barack Obama is. The Supreme Court ruled that's good enough, and precedent has been set.

That said, if Democrats want to argue that their black American is more of a *real* American than a Hispanic, then I wish them all the best. I'd love for that debate to run wild and free right before an election. Democrats hate Hispanics, film at 11. Yeah. I'd donate to left wing birthers just to keep that pain alive.

Eat your heart out, Alinsky. I read your book, you magnificent bastard. I read your book. ;-)

“though his parents were legal U.S. residents when he was born — they were not yet naturalized citizens.”

Bingo.

Thereby in-eligible.

Rubio was born in the USA, his parents were not.

If he’s smart, Rubio will let the “birthers” stew for a few months and very publicly prove his eligibility.

Just because the Democrats have twisted and broken the law and trashed the Constitution is no reason why we should do the same.

Rubio is not a natural-born citizen. He is not qualified.

We need to restore the laws that Obama has broken, and make sure nothing like that ever happens again.

Pesky things, laws. Best we do away with them, no?

It made no difference for zero; why should it matter for Rubio?

All Rubio has to do is claim that his long-form birth certificate is locked up in a vault somewhere in Florida, and then post a PDF of the short-form BC on his Web site.

Works all the time.

Look, Rubio is not running and Obama won’t make it to 2012.

If it gets rid of the Obamanation, Rubio needs to take one for the team.

’ there is strong evidence that the Founding Fathers understood it to mean someone born of two American citizens.”

I thought Obama’s father was a non-citizen?

Interesting thread.

I believe that Marco Rubio meets the constitutional requirements that describe a 'natural born citizen' and is legally qualified to be Vice President of the United States. I base that statement primarily on the information offered in post #14. If that information is in error, I'm sure others will submit explanations as to why. However, I expect this issue won't be seized on by the left because it brings Barack Hussein Obama's very questionable claims to U.S. citizenship and his qualifications to be president into the spotlight, and the DNC doesn't want that.

I could go without all these machinations. He’s eligible for every office in the land but two. Those are the breaks. We can pick a different VP. There’s plenty to choose from.

Well, if Romney gets the GOP nod, I dunno if the NBC thing will be brought up. After all, his father is a Mexican.

Do both parents have to be US Citizens to make the child NBC?

Interesting.

Still, I doubt that Rubio will be the VP..

The polling and trends from Florida are all going Republican. Obama is polling very poorly down here. I think it's more likely that Santorum or maybe Kasich will be the VP choice for 2012. If the Republican ticket can pick up Pennsylvania, that would be a big gain. Ohio is also less Republican today than Florida.

I like Rubio, but is he a natural born citizen

Not that it matters. People here seem to love him more than they love the Constitution.

‘all persons born or naturalized in the United States’

Rubio was BORN IN THE USA! What about that sentence don’t some of you understand? He was BORN ON AMERICAN SOIL. He is AN AMERICAN. Period.
