Always follow the 3 S’s
SHOOT!
SHOVEL!
SHUT UP!
The federal govt has no business sticking their nose into this situation. Talk about federal over reach.
Prosecutors these days are more corrupt than the criminals.
Just when I start thinking that common sense may just be returning to people, something like this comes around. If you cannot protect your family from attack by a wild animal, then it has to be assumed that the enviro-nazi’s have permeated every facet of the nation’s government. A general house brooming is required.
Dad protects his children and may face a year in prison and $50,000 fine. Stop the world.. I want off!
There... fixed it
What kind of society have we become when we value the lives of some kids (who probably should have been aborted anyway) over cute, cuddly woodland creatures?
Good time for jury nullification.
They should reintroduce wolf packs and bears to NYC’s Central Park, and jail anybody who “harrasses” them.
This is outrageous!
It should be enough that he was protecting his property (the pigs) let alone his family.
More STUPIDITY to appease the "Liberal" (newspeak, of course) psychosis!
If the American people do not wake up fast and understand that "Liberalism" is a disease--the disease of decadence--that will destroy the U.S.A.--America will fall! It will be ugly!
If the American people tolerate such Draconian laws, they deserve what they get.
If this case is properly presented, it can possibly give te judge/jury a vehicle for overturning the ESA.
No law can infringe the natural law right to self defense.
PS Preventive use of lethal force is legal when humans are killed, so how any jury could rule that some beast has greater rights escapes me.
Oops - I forgot that people with minds capable of arriving at such decisions are Liberals, nor Americans.
"IT'S COMIN' RIGHT FOR US!"
This one has the locals (and I'm one) really angry. The neighbors are behind the guy, the county commissioners are behind him, the Governor is behind him, and on the other side, the Feds who have decided to push ahead with grizzly "re-introduction" at any cost, including the safety and welfare of the human inhabitants. Otter has already told the Feds to pound sand once with respect to the wolf introduction program. That case pales next to this one.
It says his dad is from Athol, but I’m not seeing exactly where this occurred.
I used to own a little place back in the woods near there. We had bears on our place, though we never saw them. The dogs kept them clear of the house. But they clawed certain lodge pole pines until they fell over. Pretty hard to miss those signs. LOL...
I did see a brown bear one time. It was walking along the road just north of Rathdrum.
