“”Eric Holder dedicates MLK memorial, says work is not done”

He’s right...because Eric Holder and a few other STILL categorize people by the color of their skin.

The whites heard Martin....The blacks didn’t!!

Well, they certainly heard and embraced this:

"A society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for him, to equip him to compete on a just and equal basis."

-- MLK in his book, Where Do We Go from Here

...and this:

"If a city has a 30% Negro population, then it is logical to assume that Negroes should have at least 30% of the jobs in any particular company, and jobs in all categories rather than only in menial areas."

-- MLK in Playboy (1968)

...and how about this characterization of Ronald Reagan from King?

“When a Hollywood performer, lacking distinction even as an actor, can become a leading war hawk candidate for the presidency, only the irrationalities induced by war psychosis can explain such a turn of events.”

-- MLK's comment on Governor Reagan in 1968

As a clarification to my prior posting in this thread, I want to make it clear that I don't wish to tarnish an important aspect of Dr. King's legacy.

As a result of his martyrdom, numerous streets, roads and freeways have been named in his honor. These aptly-designated thoroughfares (such as MLK Boulevard) provide warning for those of us in an unfamiliar city of exactly where NOT TO GO!

Seriesly, is there any village, town, borough or city where a venue named after MLK isn't inhabited by urban thugs?

Chris Rock pretty much said the same thing.

Agree...I’m pretty much tired of hearing about him. I remember him and if he hadn’t been shot, he’d not have been immortalized as he has been. His name is now largely invoked by guilt-ridden whites trying to appease blacks and by blacks who want much more than non-violent peace - retribution and suffering are their aim.

Am I the only one who owns a GPS that automatically take me through those parts of any city....I'm thinking that the black chamber of commerce programmed mine. Not long ago I was in a city that I was fairly familiar with and decided just for the fun of it to follow the GPS...sure enough at 1500 in the afternoon thousands of black folks were wide eyed as I traveled through their "hood" in a white Lincoln...but being an old white fart they must have felt sorry for me and left me alone or maybe, just maybe they sensed that there was a .38 stub nose in the glove compartment...only the devil will ever know for sure.

Just plain wrong to put a monument to MLK on the mall.
In the company of Washington and Jefferson?

MLK but not RWR? To me, that borders on criminal. Note that there's not a smiley in this post.
