What is disgusting about facts?
Do you hate hispanic Americans, even those whose families have lived here since before there was anything wrong with going back and forth across the Rio Grande?
Does it disgust you that their ancestors sought a hopeful life in Texas when they were free to move here and did so?
Are you disgusted at the truth that their decendants fought in all our wars, and died by the thousands and thousands for America? In the World Wars, in Korea, in Vietnam, in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, in Afghanistan?
That they are as American as you or I?
Those are the facts.
The fact is that you used the blanket and now commonly pejorative,racist term “anglos” (not even given the respect of capitilizing the term) to refer to all Caucasian people of European heritage. Well,we all look alike,eh.
So now I am racist against myself, eh?
I myself am an anglo. I could care less whether it’s capitalized or not.
I have not a single drop of hispanic blood.
I simply spoke the truth about hispanic Americans who populate Texas and have populated this land for generations, whose families did not sneak across a River under threat of a legal sanction, because long ago there was none, but simply walked across a land crossing and stayed to live, whereas they had before walked back and forth across that border all the time for whatever reason, because that is what it once was like.
I myself am ethnically English, Scotch-Irish, German, Dutch and a few drops of Cherokee blood, which as the joke goes, would, if I cut myself and bled a few drops, get me kicked out of the tribe. Which is funny, because I don’t qualify to be in the tribe in the first place. But that’s the joke people used to tell...
