According to a recent UC Davis study published online in BMC Cardiovascular Disorders, people with lower socioeconomic status are at greater risk of developing heart disease compared to those who are wealthier or better educated. The likelihood of heart disease persists, even with long-term progress in addressing traditional risk factors, such as smoking, high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol.

I knew a guy who just died of a heart attack. He was as thin as a rail, made great money but couldn’t lay off the redbulls and cigarettes.
Well obviously then they’ll be healthier if the govenment gives them money.

Something must be done! How are we going to get the upper income folks to have more heart disease?
Just get em to buy, eat, and promote, lard.

What about those who can’t afford McDonalds and eat homecooked meals? Guess we should have been dead last week.
Huh? That makes no sense. Like it or not people who have little income eat cheap food most of the time. Stuff like McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc is cheap so they eat it more often. That in part contributes to how many poor people are obese. Doesn’t make a man a RINO to say it.

The demographic you are thinking of doesn't spend their money at McDonald's - these fast food chains accept food stamps. The other day I saw a pizzeria that boldly advertised payment in Food Stamps.
I read that there is ongoing consideration of making cholesterol lowering drugs over the counter, rather than by RX.
A far bigger factor is the affordability of high carb staples vs. fruits and vegetables. This carries over world wide.
Look at just how prevalant type two diabetes is in Cambodia...where the diet is very heavily rice.
I met a guy who had a snack food route that included one of the Indian Reservations in this state. He boasted that his route had the highest volume of sales in the region as gas stations and convenience stores on the reservations sold massive quantities of chips, fried snacks and other junk foods. Needless to say that the Native American populations in this state have very high rates hypertension, diabetes and heart disease.
Are you sure it's affordability?? That's what the media says but evidence points otherwise.
Look at the surveillance videos of the flash mobs in convenience stores. The kids grab the soda, twinkies and candy and go right by the apples and bananas.
With the underclass it always has to be somebody else's fault, never the underclass.
Yep. “Redistribute all wealth evenly and we’ll all live forever” seems to be the gist of this.
