Can you prove that Obama has been a lousy President?
Hot Air ^ | August 29,2011 | ED MORRISSEY

Last week, Jonathan Alter issued a challenge to his readers and Barack Obama’s critics — make the case that Obama has been an objectively bad President and doesn’t deserve re-election:

Tell me again why Barack Obama has been such a bad president? I’m not talking here about him as a tactician and communicator. We can agree that he has played some bad poker with Congress. And let’s stipulate that at the moment he’s falling short in the intangibles of leadership.

I’m thinking instead of that opening sequence in the show “Mission Impossible,” the one where Jim Phelps, played by Peter Graves, gets his instructions.

Your mission, Jim (and readers named something else), should you decide to accept it, is to identify where Obama has been a poor decision-maker. What, specifically, has he done wrong on policy? What, specifically, would you have done differently to create jobs? And what can any of the current Republican candidates offer that would be an improvement on the employment front?

I’m not interested in hearing ad hominem attacks or about your generalized “disappointment.”

First, the basis of the question has it backwards. We’re not required to “prove” that Obama is a lousy President; he’s required to make a case for another four years of the same approach to the voters. Alter starts from a presumption that Obama is somehow entitled to a second term unless we can prove to Alter that he doesn’t. No politician is entitled to office except for the term they win from the voters.

The onus is on Alter. We don’t need to do the liberals’ work for them. Obama’s poll numbers are in the toilet. The correct question is Jonathan, “Can you prove that Obama is a good president.” You have your work cut out for you.

The premise of what “mistakes” he has made is a false one.

He hasn’t made any mistakes.

The country is going in exactly the direction he wants it to go in.

From the point of view of ANYONE who desires to see a free and prosperous United States of America transformed into a captive socialist state governed ultimately from the UN, Obama has done, and is doing, a masterful job.

And THAT’S the reason we should boot his sorry commie ass out of office.

Doubled the defeict in 3 years. Doubled gas prices in 3 years. 50% increase in unemployment, 100% increase in underemployemnt, record number of people on Food Stamps, record number of citizen requiring Government assistance etc etc etc

By every single quantitative measure Obama is the worst US President in history.

Bingo, we have a winner. I am betting you didn’t even have to strain the brain all that much in trumping Jonathan Alter.

I think that Webster’s should include the new English word “obama” which is defined as “worst ever”.

No need to prove an axiom.

Which, pretty much speaks to the cognitive abilities of his devout supporters.

I’m not talking here about him as a tactician and communicator.

Mr. Alter is now conceding that Obama is a bad communicator? What a change from just a few months ago, when he would have accused anyone who even hinted that Obama might not be a positively brilliant speaker of being racist.

How about - "He signed into law a massive take over of health care which has had the effect of stopping the economic recovery dead in its tracks because businesses will not expand when they cannot predict their future personnel costs."

Or

"He has abused the office of the President by threatening retaliaotry law enforcement against any Chrysler bond holder who asserted their legal right to be paid before the unions. He has violated the War Powers Act by committing the U.S. Military to hostile action without proper consultation of Congress. He has made a mockery of the Senate's constitutional "advise and consent role" by appointing dozens of czars not subject to Senate confirmation. He has failed to observe the 14th amendment by allowing his Justice Department to refuse to provide equal protection to non-minority populations. He has failed in his duty to keep the borders secure and has attempted to violate Arizona's sovereignty when she passed laws designed to insure the safety of her citizens."

That's just off the top of my head ...

One cannot simply dismiss the Leadership quotient and pretend that it is not of singular importance. Obama has no leadership qualities and to his detriment, rather than try to develop some, he instead has chosen to bully and threaten the opposition while coddling and favoring those who agree with him to get his way.

His policies (if one can call them that) are bankrupt and run at cross purposes to generating jobs and improving the economy.

All of his feeble attempts at domestic, immigration, foreign, energy and economic policy smack of a leftist, liberal agenda run by a an administration steeped in an ideological viewpoint that is out of step with America. And as they foist more and more costly regulations upon US businesses and taxpayers they ring their hands and puzzle over the lack of jobs.

A second term? I’d rather have Jimmy Carter back.

Two words: Quantitative Easing. QE 1 and QE 2 economically bankrupted our nation.

Does that make him a bad President? To say yes is an understatement. It’s more like Treasonous.

Another good analogy I read...it was like the American voter took an intern and put him in charge of running the hospital, expecting him to do a great job with no administrative experience. He has run the country like the college professor he should be.....And IMO his so-called “coolness” under stress is simply narcissistic detachment.

Barack Hussein Obama, if that really is his name, is not even an American Citizen. Why else would he have a phoney SS#. And why else would Hawaiian State officials continue to refuse to produce the typed Birth Certificate from 1961. On Sept 14 Orly Taize will be back in Hawaii with an order from a Federal Court, let’s see what happens. He should not be allowed to run in 2012.

Obozo, and the dims, have not passed a budget in how many days now? How many more government regulations stiffling business in this country have been added to the overwhelming number before Jan 20, 2009? The ideology that in order to get the U.S. economy started again the Government has to spend money it doesn’t have? I’m sure there’s plenty more reasons, but these are sufficient IMO.
