Perry dominates in South Carolina (PPP Poll has Perry up by 23 pts.)
Public Policy Polling ^ | 8/30/11 | PPP

Raleigh, N.C. – If there was any question that Rick Perry is the new Republican presidential frontrunner before now, PPP’s latest poll of South Carolina confirms it. A week ago, PPP showed Perry jumping to a narrow lead in first-caucus Iowa. Now, he has a double-digit lead in what will likely be the third-voting state. Perry tops with 36% to Mitt Romney’s 16%, Michele Bachmann’s 13%, Herman Cain’s 9%, Newt Gingrich’s 8%, Ron Paul’s 5%, Rick Santorum’s 4%, and Jon Huntsman’s 2%. This is a sea change from when PPP last polled the race in June, with Perry not included. Romney led with 30% to Cain’s and Gingrich’s 15%, Bachmann’s 13%, and Paul’s 10%.

If Sarah Palin joins the fray, it has no impact on Perry’s dominance but a lot on Bachmann’s standing. Palin would place third at 10% behind Perry still at 36%, Romney at 13%, followed by Cain’s 9%, and Bachmann and Gingrich tied at 7%.

Anybody that believes any of these manufactured polls is simply naive.

There is no longer any science in political polling, has not been for years and years!

They are all filthy buggers with a agenda. It`s not even debatable. And for the record I have held this view years before I even heard of Sarah Palin

In fact, supporting any candidate BUT Palin is proof of Palin-hatred.

Well, DUH, of course it is!

(sarcasm)

I don't understand why this is here...???

“What the hell is wrong with you Perry people? This guy is not Conservative.”

Which is why he’s been elected governor of one of the most conservative states. 3 times.

‘kay.

From what I have seen thus far, Mitt acts entitled to the nomination and seems to believe “he is next”.

That might've been valid years ago, but with the TEA Party populating large swaths of the GOP, the day for that game has passed. Sorry, Mittens... you'll have to run on your record... oh, wait...

Definition of DOUGHTY
: marked by fearless resolution : valiant

Should read:

Doughy:
adj : having the consistency of dough because of insufficient leavening or improper cooking; "the cake fell; it's a doughy mess" [syn: soggy]

If polls are all faked, then why aren’t there any polls faked in a direction that you’d want to see? Seems there’d be a market for that, if we’re just inventing numbers?

That's right! The only polls that mean anything are the ones that tell me what I want to hear!

Are you a Conservative or aren’t you?

That’s the real question. Using a Democrat poll to support this likes of this guy raises the question.

Mittens & Huntsman need to withdraw & hold a double pity-party for themselves.

Ronmey is losing traction every day & Huntsman is only stealing funds that could be used elsewhere.

OTOH—Huntsman election paraphanalia will become priceless in about 100 years on Antiques Roadshow.

Look for Palin to be doing reverse mortgage commercials in a couple years at this rate.

Yes of course. Manufactured. Can you point us to a poll that is not manufactured that shows your candidate in the lead?

Thank you in advance.

News flash: Bachmann won the Iowa straw poll and is polling in the top three. She is a top tier candidate and a serious person. She is not running a “silly campaign”. To suggest that would be silly.

That being said Perry is the likely GOP nominee. We didn’t want Mit in 2008 and we don’t want him now.

I don’t have much problem with Bachmann, but feel she’d struggle almost as badly as Palin in the general.

What the hell is wrong with you Perry people? This guy is not Conservative.

Sarah and a lot of other people disagree with you. And since no one made you the arbiter of what a conservative is, please excuse me if I ignore your opinion.

The problem is, this is August of 2011. Right now we’re trying to get Conservative candidates to pull out, so Perry can run away with the nomination.

I have seen a few people who would like to see the field begin to thin, but I am not one of them. I think Bachmann will be out after SC, but only because she will have no viable path to the nomination. She is running behind in Iowa, and is getting crushed in NH and SC. Same thing with Cain - I don't think he breaks double-digits in any of the first 4 states. But I don't begrudge them the ability to stay in and try. That is up to them.

I would vote for Perry JUST to send a Texan to take over for Obummy.

As far as Perry being a RINO, who the Hell isn’t a RINO!?

I mean, seriously, the last republican I can remember is Ronald Reagan.

So, some say Perry is a RINO, others say he isn’t, but what I say is he’s a TEXAN, and OBAMA hates TEXANS, so I’m gonna send Boy Barry a TEXAN WITH A SOUTHERN ACCENT for the end of his first term!

Wow, people seem to be dropping Romney in droves once they got someone else they viewed as electable.
