Romney to make first appearance at a major tea party rally (Tea Party Express)

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) – For the first time, Mitt Romney will headline a major national tea party rally.

On Labor Day the Republican presidential candidate will join the Tea Party Express’ “Reclaiming America” bus tour in Manchester, New Hampshire, organizers tell CNN.

The group’s fifth national bus tour kicked off last week in California and will end in Tampa ahead of the CNN/Tea Party Express debate on September 12th. Thirty stops are on the bus tour’s schedule.

Romney’s appearance at the event is significant: he has not headlined any events in the Tea Party Express’ previous four bus tours. Meanwhile, leaders of other tea party groups say they cannot recall any major tea party events that Romney has spoken to or attended since the movement began in 2009.

True, but can they recall who has?

Why would a RINO like Romney think he could be accepted by the Tea Party?

I’m sure he’ll feel as comfortable there as Barack Obama would. I can just imagine him with a bottle of hand sanitizer at the ready and a Michael Jackson veil to keep from breathing in all of those wholesome grass roots.

Romney is part of the problem the Tea Party was created to solve.

Romney is such a menace. He's like a political vampire. He needs to have a stake driven through his political heart. My biggest fear is that he gets in the same way McCain did. And I really WISH that Republicans like Palin and even Perry (not to mention Rush and Levin!) would start BADMOUTHING HIM just exactly the same way they badmouth Obama -- go on offense, attack Romney, the same as they rightly attack Democrats and liberals. Because Romney is just as dangerous (more dangerous, really) as any Democrat.

Reagan's 11th Commandment applies to genuine Republicans. Romney is a liberal statist who is registered as a Republican, and as such, falls outside of the 11th Commandment protection. He's as much fair game as Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank.

"Why would a RINO like Romney think he could be accepted by the Tea Party?"

That's a great question, and here's another: Why would the TPX give Romney a microphone and a stage? Romneycare = socialized medicine = NOT ONE VOTE FOR THIS IDIOT. No a$$hole, you can't take it back or spin it, ever.

All he has to do is endorse Sarah Palin and he will be warmly accepted.

June 4, 2011: Tea Party Group to Back Any GOP Nominee— Including Romney
"Whoever the Republican nominee is will have to have the support of the Tea Party movement, the entire Tea Party movement," Chairwoman Amy Kremer said.

Kremer went on to say the Tea Party is "completely neutral," adding that it "just wants to see the cream rise to the top... If Romney is the nominee I believe that we want to defeat Barack Obama."

I guess Amy Kremer now thinks she speaks for the whole Tea Party.
