Pat Buchanan charges blacks 'inordinately overrepresented' as federal civil servants (Video)

As government cuts loom, one segment of the population could be especially hard hit — the black community — not just because any particular social program is in jeopardy, but because that community makes up a sizable chunk of federal employees.

In an appearance on Tuesday’s Laura Ingraham radio show, MSNBC’s Pat Buchanan elaborated on a case he made in his most recent column, “Obama’s Race-Based Spoils System.” He also questioned why an initiative by the White House to apply affirmative action policies to senior civil service workers is underway.

What government cuts are “looming”? So far all the feds are talking about is reductions in the rate of increase. What departments have been eliminated? What agencies? What programs? Zip Zero Nada.

how much over-represented are they if hiring is based on those with high school or college diplomas compared to other races?

I heard the other day, I think Star Parker on the DANA Radio program (97.1FM talk, EDITOR Big Journalism), that 50% of all Adult Africa America Males are employed by either local, state or federal government. As local government cut jobs, this demographic will be hit the hardest.

I doubt seriously that the Obama administration alone is responsible for the demographic statistics of the ethnic or racial representation among Federal employees - other than possibly some recent politically-induced change in the “Latin-American” representation.

Most of the numbers have been a long time accumulating.

And, it is not so much “race” as it is possibly someone’s own social culture out of which someone comes to prefer the employment security of a government job rather than the rough and tumble of making it in the private sector.

“Fannie=45% black, Freddie=50% black.”

I just refinanced my mortgage online to reap the benefits of the low interest rate.

Because I was online (and just for fun) I checked “black” when it asked my race.

I have a credit credit score (820+) and our mortgage is slightly less than 1/3 of our annual salary (and we have no other debt and good assets), so I knew I would have no problems.

BUT, I got immediate approval from the Freddie (or fannie, I don’t know), and the broker said it should take weeks -— and she credited my racial choice.

“that 50% of all Adult Africa America Males are employed by either local, state or federal government”

And 50% are not employed.

Perhaps 50% of all EMPLOYED AA males are gubmint employees.

African Americans make up 17.4 percent of the federal workforce, as compared to 10.1 percent of the civilian labor force. But the percentage of African Americans drops dramatically with each rise in job grade. They hold 27.6 percent of the lowest positions (GS 1-4), 25.8 percent of GS 5-8, 15.7 percent of GS 9-12, 10.9 percent of GS 13-15 and just 6.9 percent of Senior Pay levels.

“African Americans make up 17.4 percent of the federal workforce”

They are 9.7% of the US population.

So they are 179.38% over-represented. Clearly discrimination against whites.

I seem to recall a certain pResident announcing just before he left on his latest vacation that he was going to push for more diversity in the feral gubbmint workforce.

I suppose this means that more whites will be hired, right?

Federal government hiring policy began with Carter. It was fairly simple, BW, BM, WW, WM, in that order.

I would estimate, conservatively, that where I live is 70-80% white. I have yet to see a white face in any of the three post offices that I frequent.
