Was Barack Obama smart enough to make it as an Air Force pilot?

In their quest to widen the low-road and increase its rider-ship, the liberal Washington, D.C-based Politico just offered up this hackneyed but oh so predictable headline: “Is Rick Perry Dumb?”

Really? While it’s no surprise to conservatives and independents that the liberal mainstream media would pull out the old “attack Ronald Reagan” hand-book, dust it off, and use its previously discredited assaults to go after the surging Perry, a better question to be asked is:

“What are they all so afraid of?”

First of all, something which must be highlighted and stressed by all who care about fairness and accuracy is that Texas Gov. Rick Perry not only honorably served in our military but that he was a decorated Air Force pilot.

At about the same age that President Obama (by his own admission) was trying to find himself and experimenting with drugs, Perry was strapping himself into the cockpit of multi-million dollar Air Force aircraft.

For those on the left who may not understand as many look down upon our military and mock its very existence, getting through flight training and becoming a pilot in the United States Air Force is a very exacting process which actually does take a high degree of intelligence, skill, judgment, and even courage.

Obama was never a “Law Professor”. He was a guest lecturer, telling the Students what a Racist Document the Constitution is.

He could not. His father was foreign-born and he still had relatives in Kenya. That right there would cause his application to be crumpled up and tossed into a burn-bag. And right now, this individual sans provenance has access to our most closely-guarded secrets, sources and methods. He also was known by another name. He went to foreign schools. Any number of these discriminants would stop any further background investigation. I doubt if there are any members of his cabinet who would qualify for any security clearance.

I was saying something like that to my wife last night. I mean all we have to go on to assess his brilliance is the word of the LSM. I doubt he could:

* write a simple computer program (I'll even spot him a GOTO statement)
* Solve an algebra equation
* Name the planets

In short, a moron.

My son is a Navy pilot. In his flight schools and early assignments I had the good fortune to meet several of his compatriots. They were all well spoken and talked in complete sentences. I just don't think I met a net wit in the bunch.

I bet not one of them would continue down the same road when all they found before was failure.

It goes back even farther. The left claimed Adlai Stevenson was some kind of genius while Ike was an amiable dunce. Really. The same Ike who George Marshall awarded a plum job planning WWII because he was a brilliant staff officer. The same Ike who led one of the most difficult coalitions in military history to total victory.

They don't hesitate to lie and have no shame about it.
