By day, the Balere Language Academy is an A-rated charter school, home to children in kindergarten through middle school.
But when the kids are tucked into bed, Balere apparently becomes a playground of a different kind.
Party fliers, printed and on the Web, indicate that the campus at 10875 Quail Roost Dr. has been hosting raunchy, booze-soaked bashes into the wee hours (SNIP) The school district received complaints from parents who wondered why there were empty beer bottles at their childs school. They also complained about a lingering smell of smoke...

Well, that’s one playground I’d warn kids not to visit in the evening!
Being that it’s a private school they should have the right to do whatever they wish with the property out of hours. But poor cleanup sounds like a problem here. Kids shouldn’t be coming back to smoky rooms and litter, or other hints of what had been happening the night before.

I don’t have a problem with this, if the charter school can keep costs down through dual use of the property what’s the big deal? As long as both uses are kept separate I don’t see this as a harm to the students at all.

Laz just called. Don't bother pinging him tomorow. He's been bad. And is staying after school.

According to the article the space is also used by two churches. Do the churches recruit for people at the adult club?

They could recruit from the club...like I said as long as the uses are kept separate who cares. Public schools should be doing the same thing if it lowers our property taxes.

Schools could definitely be used for multiple community purposes.

Schools could definitely be used for multiple community purposes.Yes they could.
Then some people complain if one of those purposes is for a "religious" activity. The same people complain if a church allows a room or two to be used as a polling place during voting time.

Sorry I’m late, Mom.
The teacher made me stay after school to clean erasers.
