I don’t disagree that Bush was an idiot for signing that energy bill—as if the environmentalists would give him any credit for doing it, anyway.
What worries me is that presumably Boehner has said that Upton will be in charge of pursuing this latest scandal.
Boehner put Upton in charge of the commerce and energy subcomittee, although he knew he was a leftist. And, so far, as far as I have heard, Upton has continued to refuse to allow the repeal of the incandescent ban to be discussed in his committee, although he promised he would when he was given the job.
Maybe he’ll follow up on this. But I have my doubts. He has been handed the ball, and I’m afraid he’ll just stick it in his pocket until the issue is forgotten.

Looks like an integrity problem to me, if there were better contenders that got passed over. Not that the cylinder solar energy collection system looks like all that bad an idea. Speaking of comparing the experience of the Bush administration to the “Fast and Furious” case, I think it’s telling to compare the multi-year media uproar over the “outing” of Whitehouse-CIA-agent-in-residence Valarie Plame to the absolute silence on human beings (including a border patrol agent) LOSING THEIR LIVES in the case of F&F.
IMHO Dems PTB (powers that be) are looking for a political way to pick some new horses for the 2012 race, these two is lookin’ like a couple of “mules”. That’s another reason, IMHO, that Repubs need to tack far right. The Dem “replacement team” would, of course, tack center. So if Repubs field a “centrist” team, it would be completely up for grabs - no guarantee of who would win. Repubs need to focus on continuing to slowly bring the grassroots “center” to the right.

You haven’t heard anything from Buffet since people started asking why his Co. owes 3 billion in Taxes.
