Perry Says He's Best Contrast to Obama
Texas Tribune ^ | Sept 3, 2011 | Jay Root

Posted on 09/03/2011 8:11:20 PM PDT by Clairity

Some analysts suggest Perry is too conservative and too controversial to beat Obama, and that Romney would make a better candidate in the general election. The Texas governor made the opposite argument Saturday.

Perry, who spoke at two house parties in New Hampshire, said he was the only candidate who "draws a clear contrast" with Obama.

"The differences between President Obama and myself are great," Perry said in Manchester. "He's lost more than a million jobs while he's been president. I've created a million jobs since I've been the governor."

....

"I don't support a fence on the border. I think strategic fencing is a part of the strategy," Perry said. "If you build a 30-foot wall from El Paso to Brownsville, the 35-foot ladder business gets real good."

As the man kept pressing, Perry said: "You've got to have people on the ground, sir ... and it's got to be law enforcement."

It’s Palin country indeed and TIME TO DEAL WITH THE BROAD DAYLIGHT THEFT OF AMERICA in ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. We want action so we have to carefully vet these candidates in terms of who gets bought. Perry will suffer big-time in that kind of analysis. He should have gotten the sanctuary bill passed by hook or crook if he had his sights on DC.

“BUT what happens if he wins —does he Moderate in the general election —Only past performances can give a clue”

Wasn’t he once a Democrat?

I no longer just assess potential candidate’s statements at face value; that person’s history of principles expressed through governing is what I am looking at closely this election cycle.

My research indicates Gov. Rick Perry is a not a conservative.

Gov. Palin is indeed a conservative.

Sarah Palin is a “personality”, a “celebrity” of a certain type.

She’s a unique combination. She’s been a mayor, a governor, she’s from Alaska, she’s a mother of a family which also got extensive media coverage, her daughter had a teen pregnancy, same daughter later competed on Dancing with the Stars with Sarah in the audience, her husband is a hunk who competes in a major Alaskan race each year, she’s relatively young, she’s beautiful, she competed in a beauty pageant, she has run for Vice President, and people continue to speculate and argue over whether or not she’ll announce she’s running for President, and I could go on and on but I won’t.

It is no wonder a speech by her would draw so many comments.

No other individual including Governor Perry generates the buzz she does.

Governor Perry has shown himself to be a formidable candidate so far, with forever to go until the election, but that isn’t the same unique niche occupied by the unique Sarah Palin.

Good pic.

That's where Perry delivered his letter to Obama about border security:

Thank you for a very thoughtful analysis.

In 2008 the majority of new American voters and Independents voted for Obama. To a lot of these voters it was a feeling that you voted for the candidate with the message and not the color or gender of the person. To a certain extent this was an experiment by the voters to elect Obama.
Obama has turned out to be a total failure and as such the experiment has failed in the eyes of the people who voted for him.
Given human nature, the voters in 2012 will vote for a traditional candidate and that means an older white male with no connection to Washington D C.
Obama has set back the opportunities for Blacks, Hispanics, Women and other minorities to run for nationwide office, no matter how qualified the person is.
The biggest danger this country has is a bunch of Palin, Bachman, or Trump groupies to lose sight of the important issue for 2012. And that is the defeat of Obama and the expansion of Conservative member of the HOuse and the Senate.
Perry has the ability to contrast every Obama failure with a success and this will give him coat tails to get others elected. Bachman and Palin do not have this same pull among the voters we need to get Obama out.
If we end up with a weak person running we will lose and Obama’s agenda will continue until 2016. The Palin, Trump, and Bachman supporters may not like this, but they are stupid not to support a person who has the ability to end the Democrat party as we know it.

Please forgive any appearance of blasphemy, and no deification or idolization of any politician is intended, but this would be like Jesus announcing that he was the best contrast to the devil. A rather weak statement, if you ask me. American doesn’t need to just cancel Obama out, it needs to progress in a conservative direction.

"The differences between President Obama and myself are great," Perry said in Manchester. "He's lost more than a million jobs while he's been president. I've created a million jobs since I've been the governor."

I thought conservatives knew that 'government' men either local or national DO NOT create jobs. Yes, I know jobs numbers are better in Texas than many other states, but it is a pant load for any politician to claim they 'created' even one job, that is unless state government in Texas is rising at a higher employment level than the BamBamKennedy's administration.
