All eyes will be on the national political stage Wednesday night as Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the newly anointed GOP favorite, must navigate pitfalls, landmines, and broadsides from every quarter during his first Republican presidential debate if he hopes to solidify his frontrunner status.
How well Perry holds up under the pressure will determine who has the inside track to win the nomination. If the former cotton farmer-turned-politico performs well and doesnt stumble, it would go along way toward solidifying the growing momentum that has vaulted him to the top of the GOP pack in recent primary polls.

Exactly right. Here's the reception given to Govenor Perry by LEGAL Latino Legislators ... Don't you feel the love?
You are so full of it. He is getting McCain treatment, bottom line. Your lies can not stand.
I would take Michele Bachmann over the RINO Perry any day.
The Ricktopians wontt post anything not pre-approved by the Perry campaign...that's why they failed to mention that no one has seen Perry in a debate for several years.
No debates for years? But, but, Ricky has a string of unbroken election wins.....wait a sec.... ut, oh, Houston, we have a problem.
Watch for telltale signs IF Senor Ricardo shows up for the debate.......
<><> hesitation in answering (being cued in an earpiece)
<><> a flashing text messager on the podium discreetly hidden under a pile of corn chips
<><> sweating bullets, etc.......
That doesn’t answer my question, does it?
Who is your PREFERRED candidate?
Not “would you pick Bachmann over Perry”?
Are you saying you pick Bachmann over EVERYBODY.
We already know, in long, long, boring, repetitive, dreary detail that you don’t pick Perry.
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
Who DO you pick?
You really have a problem reading. I really really don’t want to call you stupid, but you are really really getting close.....
For the 50th time, I will waste my time giving you this information.
I am for Governor Palin first. Congressman Buchmann second, and Mr. Cain third. I wouldn’t mind Senator Santorum either. What I want is a REAL conservative and those four are what I consider REAL conservatives. Governor Perry is not a REAL Conservative. I am sure he is a great person and Governor, but not Presidential material.
So why is Bachmann 2nd?
I guess you don’t really give a flying f* about immigration, though you do prattle on about it so.
He’s only been in four debates in his life. lol. I can’t wait for tonight. This is going to be so funny. He will dodge and stammer all night long. It is going to be a trip for sure.
Well I see that you got your children to read it for you....Thank God. I am for Palin first because she has the most experience. Her immigration stance is on par with Bachmann. I would be happy with either one.
Seems you are really hoping for that to happen?
Yep. We DON’T need another McCain. Doesn’t everyone learn?
Palin gets a D.
Bachmann gets a B.
That’s “on a par” as far as you’re concerned.
I think you need some help from your children with the alphabet.
Hint: The D only has one bump. The B has two.
Your girl loves McCain. Didn’t you learn that?
Perry is the front runner by a large margin. All he has to do is not stumble. If he comes across as competent, in charge of the facts, aggressive toward Obama, and can put together two coherent sentences in a row, he will "win" the debate. It is the other candidates that have to hit the home run in order to try to knock him out of his spot at the top.

You might want to whine to the moderators to have your post removed. (Just to be on the safe side.)
I cannot believe that you have been on FR since 2001 and supporting a RINO. That is so disappointing. Seriously we have better conservatives in this group than Perry and you at least know that is true. I don’t know why we have to settle for a less than conservative candidate. I am serious with this post. Why? I don’t get it and NOBODY has explained why we are not going with the most conservative candidate.

You are right. You have pegged it exactly right. That's exactly what Perry has to do.
And if he fails to do that, he'll be in some hot water. But I don't think he'll fail.
Wanna get bombed real fast? Chug-a-lug everytime Perry dodges and stammers.
IF he shows up.
Perry will do fine. He is a proven vote getter and he’s had his share of debates.
I’m a Palin supporter but I’ll be pulling for him and interested in hearing him in more details on the issues. It will be the press that goes after him the hardest.
Maye Paul, but he is irrelevant.
