New polling shows reliably blue Pennsylvania, a state that hasnt voted for a Republican for president since 1988, could be up for grabs in 2012. And in a wisdom-bending development, organized labor could help the state trend red.
A new poll from the Center for Opinion Research at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. shows 52 percent of Pennsylvanians want someone other than Barack Obama elected president in 2012. Just 41 percent say he deserves another term.
But most telling in the Franklin & Marshall poll is remarkably high dissatisfaction with Obama in households where rank-and-file union members live.
Although 61 percent of all Democrats polled said they want to see Obama re-elected, 59 percent of union households told the pollsters they wanted to see someone else in the White House.

these are trhe same people who voted for Murtha after he called them racist morons
So, those union members wil vote for the evil tea party conservatives? I seriously doubt it. Come election time they will vote for their commie associate of the People’s Socialist Communist Homosexual Liberal Dimocrat Party.
From what I have seen, Obama is not popular ANYWHERE in Pennsylvania except with some of the Black Panther types in inner-city Philly. Even black support out here in the west seems lukewarm for him.
As LBJ said: “If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost Middle America”
Obama can say “If I’ve lost Pennsylvania, I’ve lost Middle America” and there’s no hope for him winning an election.
For someone who is a bitter clinger from Pennsylvania I can say don’t count your chickens before their hatched though. I would quibble with one thing in the article. It is true that Pa has a hard time voting for a Republican in the Presidential elections, but we are far from a “Reliably Blue State” as the article proffers. We have a Republican Governor, Lt Governor, Senate and House. So as a state, we are pretty red.
Don’t worry. Philly’s 110% voter turnout will pull Obama over the finish line. I live in Lancaster and people seem to be upset about Obama. It really depends on who the other candidate is.
There is no excitement for obama.
Yes, every black person, welfare queen, anti-Semite, every union thug, every illegal that turns out WILL vote for obama, but there’s only one problem: they aint’ gonna show.
“And it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” B. Hussein obama.
Yeah, yeah, yeah..I think the people of Pennsylvania like being stomped on by democrats. I never thought they would vote for obama after he made the comment above. I have ZERO confidence in their ability to make wise poltical decisions.
IMO...this is fatal. When only 60% of you hard-core base wants you back...you can't win. That will show up as low turn-out....sitting at home.
60% support from your base means you lose 10% off the top.
Pennsylvania, where the city of Philadelphia has had inner city precincts with 105% turnouts. Somehow I think the Hussein Fraud Machine is REALLY cranked up for Il Douche in 2012.
Pennsylvania went ALL Republican:
Governor
US Senator
State House
State Senate
AND
Philadelphia is being left to rot on the vine. Prominent Democrat politicians from Philadelphia THAT USED TO run Harrisburg with an iron fist are gone or in jail. Philly is also losing population and they will be redistricted so they have even less power...
James Carville described Pennsylvania as "Philadelphia and Pittburgh with Alabama in between."
Then why does it not vote for a rep. president???
And the Republican response was . . .
Ahhh, no. Many of the Pa Unionites are the ones who put Republican Tom Corbett in office as our Governor; and elected a State Senate and House that is overwhelmingly R as well. They also overwhelemed the Philly Voter Phraud to elect Pat Toomey to the US Senate; and lil Bobby Casey will have sweat on his uni-brow next election as well. We bitter clingers hold a grudge!
Much as I’d like to believe my Home State will flip to the right in 2012, I’ve been down this path before. PA is a classic “Lucy with the football” state for us. Trust me, nearly all of my relatives still live there and if any of them even know there is a choice NOT to vote democrat I’d be shocked.
The unions are tied to the dimocrats hook, line and sinker. Either they vote for Zero, or refuse to vote at all. In the end of the day, most will vote for Zero because he is the union ticket, I.E. Hoffa’s mob types. Yes, of course, there are conservative union members and they vote their way, but the majority of the mob votes for the mob.
