Dolphins 'Talk' Like Humans, New Study Suggests
Live Science ^ | 07 September 2011 | Jeanna Bryner

Dolphins "talk" to each other, using the same process to make their high-pitched sounds as humans, according to a new analysis of results from a 1970s experiment.

The findings mean dolphins don't actually whistle as has been long thought, but instead rely on vibrations of tissues in their nasal cavities that are analogous to our vocal cords.

If they are so darned smart as to have speech, where are their buildings, works of art, literature etc.?

One could also say that chimpanzees play the drums just like Buddy Rich — I mean, they hold a stick and hit stuff with it.

I love dolphins. They are fascinating. When we would go to the Seaquarium in Miami I would spend the whole time just watching the dolphins. I have always dreamed of doing one of those swim with the dolphins trips. I think it would be awesome.

The White Man stole them.

The Dolphins may talk like humans but they are still going 5-11 as long as Chad Henne is their QB.

"Man [has] always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much-the wheel, New York, wars and so on-while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man-for precisely the same reason."

"If they are so darned smart as to have speech...."

Never mind buildings or works or art-heck, why don't they tell all their buddies to "watch out for those tuna nets-they'll get you every time!"

...or something smart like THAT??

They don’t need all that crap. They have the whole ocean and they seem perfectly content with that. But wouldn’t it be cool if animals could talk? Actually, my dogs can but they won’t do it in front of anyone but me. Kinda like Mr. Ed.

And why don't they pass the word as to the location of and how to avoid tuna nets.

So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all but oh dear

You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that
grow around you

So long, so long and thanks
for all the fish

The world’s about to be destroyed
There’s no point getting all annoyed
Lie back and let the planet dissolve
Around you

Despite those nets of tuna fleets
We thought that most of you were sweet
Especially tiny tots and your
pregnant women

So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long

So long, so long and thanks
for all the fish

If I had just one last wish
I would like a tasty fish
If we could just change one thing
We would all have learned to sing

Come one and all
Man and mammal
Side by side
In life’s great gene pool

So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long

So long, so long and thanks
for all the fish

Well, I don't don't know about dolphins mucking around water, but I heard about a goldfish who mucked around a fountain....or was that a climber who...oh never mind..
