SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- California lawmakers have sent the governor a bill making it a misdemeanor for openly carrying an unloaded handgun in public, a practice popular among certain gun enthusiasts.

The court cases that have upheld the "may issue" California CCW law stated that the law did not violate the Second Amendment right to bear arms because citizens could still legally carry unloaded arms openly without a permit.

If this law is signed by Governor Brown, then that will no longer be true.

And by that virtue BOTH the CCW and OC laws must be thrown out as violations of the 2nd Amendment; they will have no excuse now.

Since the writ of the US Constitution seems not to extend to the State of California, I guess those who reside there do not have the Second Amendment to protect themselves against thieves, skallywags and politicians. I would caution those who live in the other 49 states to not visit, trade with or move to California as other common natural rights and civil behaviors may not be afforded to you by California should you ignore my caution.

Even if (when) Jerry Brown-nose signs this it will not take effect immediately.

Until it does take effect, EVERYONE who can should open carry, at every opportunity.

Dumb cops and their superiors will harass, intimidate, and arrest as many as they can.

But open carry will still be legal, so let the lawsuits commence!

Put the proceeds toward funding the repeal or overturning effort.
