Rick Perry was the first Republican Lt. Gov. to be elected since Reconstruction.

Upstate NYers have been talking about secession for years, though not from the union, just from Downstate :-)

There is never a "pathway" for lawbreakers to make up for their lawbreaking ~ there are only penalties and disabilities.

Should be the same for the illegal aliens as for Texas.

Gots ta' go ta' the end of the line first!

Gov. Perry Issues Proclamation Recognizing Texas First Responders Day

Sunday, September 11, 2011 • Austin, Texas •

Proclamation

On a Tuesday morning 10 years ago, we watched in horror as terrorists hìjacked four of our commercial airliners, attacked the United States and killed nearly 3,000 civilians on our soil. Two thousand miles away from that attack, 73 emergency response professionals in Central Texas - members of the Texas Task Force i, the state's elite search team - were among the first to respond to the call for help with search-and-rescue operations.

In the aftermath, we witnessed heroic rescue efforts, a surge of patriotism and a display of great dignity. People at home and abroad rallied together in support, proudly flying American flags in unity and reverence. We rose above the ashes with courage and compassion. Our country demonstrated an optimism that no attack could weaken.

The Texas Legislature has designated September 11 of every year to be Texas First Responders Day to honor emergency aid professionals. As we remember the parents, children, brothers and sisters whose lives were tragically cut short by these attacks, let us also acknowledge the men and women who bravely stepped up to serve following those attacks.

THEREFORE, I urge all Texans to honor the profound sacrifices and dedication of our peace officers, firefighters and emergency medical responders. Every day here in Texas, they answer the call for help and offer invaluable services that bring relief and comfort during the worst of circumstances. First Lady Anita Peny joins me in extending our deep gratitude to them on this day and every day.

THEREFORE, I, Rick Perry, Govemor of Texas, do hereby proclaim September 11 ,2011, to be

Texas First Responders Day

in Texas, and urge the appropriate recognition whereof.

In official recognition whereof, I hereby affix my signature this the 6th day of September, 2011,.

RICK PERRY
Governor of Texas

OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR

There’s always one or more threads going on FR where posters cleverly and originally write, “Kick California out of the Union and build a wall around it!”

So here’s my question: could the U.S. really do that? I mean, I understand the Civil War settled the question of whether a state can leave of its own accord.

But what if all the states voted to give one the boot? Constitutional or not?

Well, I’m old—but not that old—LOL! I certainly went to school after the War Between the States—(quite a long while after!) and we were still being taught this.

Does the Pope have thermonuclear warheads? Well, not yet ~ so that's the answer about kicking a state out of the union. Lyndon Baines Johnson said we can swap Texas land back to the Mexicans ~ without Texas approval as I recall. So I guess we could swap California ~ back to SPAIN!!!! Screw the Mexicans.

Oh, yeah, and we keep the part the Russians had a claim to ~ they sold all that early on.

LOL

I think it’s “kill” the top dog.

Paul is trying to bite Perry’s boots and beyond being annoying, it won’t make a difference.

Hmm ~ we went to school with pictures of Abe Lincoln in our classrooms.

Regional peculiarities ~ but I think the Texans of "way back when" recalled RECONSTRUCTION quite well!

Speaking of first responders smoothsailing,

Texas: "Eleven of the 24 firefighters of the Heart of the Pines department, including 49-year-old assistant chief Scott Sutcliffe, lost their homes."

Bastrop firefighter Michelle Baker sat in a firetruck as her house collapsed. 'I had to watch my house burn,' she said. She and her husband, Nate, returned Thursday to see what they could find.

The “radical” views are emminating from paul camp.

You lost me right there. I don't see any evidence that those opposing Perry are Ron Paul "wack-os". Polls in June showed Perry trailing Obama in Texas with Perry having a higher disapproval rating.

I guess, like with many Palin and Paul supporters, honest debate with many Perry supporters is out of the question.

Those familiar with candidate:

Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin, who still have not ruled out entering the race, are also well-liked by Republicans (74% and 69% favorable ratings, respectively), but also do not generate the same degree of strong intense feeling as Perry and Cain. Giuliani's current Positive Intensity Score is 15 and Palin's is 13.

Perry Remains Best-Positioned Candidate

Perry's combination of high name recognition and a high Positive Intensity Score help make him the best-positioned candidate for the Republican nomination at this point, underscored by his lead in Republican nomination preferences. Cain's enthusiastic support is offset by his low name recognition, and other well-known candidates like Romney, Michele Bachmann, and Ron Paul, do not generate the same level of intense feeling as Perry.

Source

Perry has room to grow within his name recognition numbers.

Well, I don’t recall reconstruction, and the picture in our classrooms was of George Washington.............I don’t know if that means anything—I never thought about it before. Maybe that was some sort of conspiracy?

It is true.

Just like truths about Barry, the Imposter, many refuse to believe the facts.

I would not be surprised if there ws a split away from the rlite eastern cabal of states & that the following set up their own Western States of America:

Arizona
New Mexico
Texas
Oklahoma
Missouri
Kansas
Nebraska
S Dakota
N Dakota
Montana
Wyoming
Idaho
Utah
Colorado
Nevada

They have enough resources between themselves & they know how to grow food & make things & drill for oil & mine for coal & other resources.

When the power goes out east of the Mississippi, maybe someone will get the hint.
