Governor Palin: Ten Years Ago

Posted on September 11 2011 - 11:28 AM - Posted by:

Via Facebook:

Ten years ago today, ordinary Americans went to work or boarded a plane and found themselves fighting on the frontlines of a battle they did not choose. They acquitted themselves with grace and courage, just as the thousands of men and women who enlisted to fight in our armed forces—many on the anniversaries of this day—in order to exact justice for their fellow Americans. We will never forget those who died ten years ago today, we will never forget those who died in the war that started on that day, and we ask God to comfort and bless their families. From across this great nation, grateful Americans honor those who defend our homeland. God bless America.

You don’t know me or you would never have brought up that inane question.

Hmm? I brought up a sore point, didn’t I? I forgot, Palin is untouchable to many FReepers.

I just thought that your comment under the circumstances added nothing to any debate or thought process except that you wanted to find something negative to say. Do you think you persuade anyone of your reasoning ability by doing that? or are you saying negative things to feel better about yourself an your own candidate. I would have thought the same of your remark if you made it about any candidate - it wasn’t Palin specific, but your criticism certainly was. Made her remarks hit a sore point with you...just sayin...

When did they allow children to have posting priveleges on FR? Your post shows ignorance of Sarah Palin's history, and her ideas. You must not have studied much!

Here's just a portion of one of FaceBook notes concerning Zero's policies:

..." Exhibit A: His drilling moratorium. Guided by politics and pure emotion following the Gulf spill instead of peer-reviewed science or defensible law, the President used the power of his executive order to impose a deepwater drilling moratorium. The Administration even ignored a court order halting his moratorium. And what is the net result of the President’s (in)actions? A large drilling company was forced to declare bankruptcy, the economy of the region has been hobbled, and at least 7 rigs moved out of the Gulf area to other parts of the world while many others remain idle. Is it any surprise that oil production in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to fall by 240,000 bbl/d in 2011 alone?

But that’s just the Gulf. There’s also the question of a moratorium on the development of Alaska’s Outer Continental Shelf. It seems the Obama Administration can’t agree with itself on whether it imposed a moratorium there or not. The White House claims that they didn’t, but their own Department of the Interior let slip that they did. To clear up this mess, Gov. Parnell decided to sue the DOI to get a solid answer because such a federal OCS drilling moratorium would violate federal law. ... -Read it all here!

“Aw, c’mon — give yourself a break and realize that Palin has her weaknesses too.”

Of course she does. I’d like to see you provide a link to any comment on FR that says otherwise from a Palin supporter. But isn’t it funny that some will even take shots at her when she praises those who gave their lives on 9/11, willingly or not. Pretty pathetic that your dislike of her goes so deep.

>Can you spell O-I-L?<

.
The reason I made that statement is that I am annoyed with the fact that the West allowed the migration of muslims into their countries for no other reason than their oil supply.

Before the 1974 oil embargo, there was no large-scale muslim immigration to the West as we have today. How is it that the West accepts immigration from countries richer than itself, unless there is a political motive attached to it? Is there any reason for a Saudi, Iraqi or Iranian to immigate to the West, when there is plenty of opportunity for him in his own country?

Has it ever occurred to US citizens that its government is being blackmailed by Islam — we sell you our oil if you also allow migration of our people into your country.

If the muslim world would not have oil, they would have been barred from ever setting foot in Europe or the US as they always have been in history. If we would only produce our own oil and be independent of Muslim oil, we would not be inundated by muslims and there would have never been a 9/11/01.

After having said this, my point is that Palin and other “conservative” politicians know the history of muslim migration better than I do but completely ignore this fact.

Can you spell O-I-L?

Sarah Palin can.

From her September 3 speech:

Fourth, it is time for America to become the energy superpower. The real stimulus that we’ve been waiting for is robust and responsible domestic energy production. We have the resources. Affordable and secure energy is the key to any thriving economy, and it must be our foundation. So, I would do the opposite of Obama’s manipulation of U.S. supplies of energy. Drill here, drill now. Let the refineries and the pipelines be built. Stop kowtowing to foreign countries and dictators asking them to ramp up production and industry for us, promising them that we’ll be their greatest customer. No, not when we have the resources here. We need to move on tapping our own God-given natural resources. I promise you that this will bring real job growth, not the politicians’ phony “green jobs” fairy dust sprinkled with wishes and glitter… No, a hardcore all-of-the-above energy policy that builds this indestructible link between made-in-America energy and our prosperity and our security. You know, there are enough large conventional natural resource development projects waiting for government approval that could potentially create more than a million high-paying jobs all across the country. And this is true stimulus. It wouldn’t cost government a dime to allow the private sector to do these. In fact, these projects will generate billions of dollars in revenue. Can you imagine that: a stimulus project that actually helps dig us out of debt instead of digging us further into it! And these are good-paying jobs, and I know that from experience. For years my own family was supported (as Todd worked up on the North Slope) by a good energy sector job. America’s economic revival starts with America’s energy revival.

Source.

Cheers!

The reason I made that statement is that I am ...

Actually, I believe the reason you made that statement is because you were taking a shot at Sarah Palin and those of us that support her. That is abundantly clear with all of your posts on this thread. Get real.

If you don't want to support her, don't. But, don't pretend and make false claims. Sarah Palin has complete comprehension of the oil industry and what America needs for progress!

From Wikipedia:... " she was appointed Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, responsible for overseeing the state's oil and gas fields for safety and efficiency." ...

" ... in February 2003, she accepted an appointment to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which oversees Alaska's oil and gas fields for safety and efficiency. Although she had little background in the area, she said she wanted to learn more about the oil industry, and was named chair of the commission and ethics supervisor. By November 2003 she was filing non-public ethics complaints with the state attorney general and the governor against a fellow commission member, Randy Ruedrich, a former petroleum engineer and at the time the chair of the state Republican Party. He was forced to resign in November 2003. Palin resigned in January 2004 and put her protests against Ruedrich's "lack of ethics" into the public arena by filing a public complaint against Ruedrich, who was then fined $12,000. She also joined with Democratic legislator Eric Croft[ in complaining that Gregg Renkes, then the attorney general of Alaska, had a financial conflict of interest in negotiating a coal exporting trade agreement. Renkes also resigned his post." ...

Does anyone know is she writes all this herself, or does she have help.

Her efficient use of language to get a point across with a minium use of words both in writing and the stump has caught my attention, in fact, for those that write for a living, it is an art form .

Is it me or is she truly blessed in the arena of communication skills, it took this paragraph to really have it hit home.

Simple isn't easy. This is elegant writing.

E.B. White would have been proud.
