Of course it stinks. The White House press corps are flunkies but they are not overly stupid. They will still support him, at least with faint praise, because that's what shills and whores are supposed to do-- but they know they're bailing out a turkey.

More than the continuing torrent of opinion polls, spontaneous group laughter like this — particularly as it comes from the sycophant White House press corps — is the best symptom of the evaporation of the administration’s credibility.
