RALEIGH, North Carolina, September 13, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – North Carolina voters have been granted a chance to vote on a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between one man and one woman next year.

The state Senate voted 30-16, with one Republican absent, to approve the measure Tuesday afternoon.

State Senator Warren Daniel of Morganton told LifeSiteNews.com that the amendment will go on the GOP primary ballot in May 2012.

“The people of this state, not judges, bureaucrats, or politicians, should define marriage, which I personally believe should be between one man and one woman,” said Daniel.

This is fantastic news, though it is not unexpected. The sodomites will spend all kinds of money to sway the voters, but it will be in vain. People know what marriage is.

There was some plenty ugly language from a JOURNALIST. The story posted on Civitas Institute’s blog.

Ya know Freepers...I am so over this issue. Everytime we start to get a little momentum back our way, these types of issues creep back into the forefront. Its going to be on the ballot, it will get voted into law and some gay liberal judge will strike it down as unconstitutional. Choose your battles wisely. The big prize is getting our economy moving again and creating jobs. After that we can worry about issues such as these. Just my opinion.

That’s wonderful but I hope they have better judges on the appeals court than the ninth circus in Ca. The voters decided there too but the judges said the voters can’t decided on that since it is unconstitutional. Ca needs to pound sand.

See folks, this is a classic example of why elections DO matter, and why voting GOP is important, instead of throwing little hissy fits and temper tantrums and throwing away votes on third parties.

This marriage amendment has been in the hopper for years, but was held up by NC legislature Democrat leadership (primarily former Speaker of the House Joe Hackney). When the GOP took over in January, Hackney became minority leader, and no longer had a say in House scheduling. Voila. NC voters *finally* get to vote for affirming TRUE marriage.

I fully expect California’s Prop 8 to be exonerated at last. The sodomites really have no leg to stand on. Walker’s flawed decision is a joke.

I thought that the fags and pedophiles in the black robes said it was “unconstitutional” for Americans to vote on this.

Only one fag in black robes, and his pathetic decision was put on hold until rational people get a say.

That’s good to know. I thought there had been more “decisions” than that. I hate it when these damn “judges” tell US how we are supposed to live and what we are supposed to believe. That’s not their job.

Several attacks on state marriage amendments were soundly shot down. I can’t enumerate them right now, but I know Nebraska and S. Dakota were two of the challenges. There is a ton of legal precedent supporting marriage initiatives.

Two things can be done at the same time.

And a marriage referendum requires minimal effort. It takes more effort to fight it.

We pity you. This is the epicenter of the cultural/economic destruction of this country, and you don't seen to know it.

I don’t need your pity. I was merely stating “my opinion” that there are bigger fish to fry than this. I would expect “my opinion” to be taken as such on this board. This is not the DailyKos.

Why do we have always revert back to these fringe issues? We as a country need to find our way again. I can’t think of one good thing at all going right and all you are worried about is gay marriage. Get over it. Live and let live.

Don’t ever give me “your pity” again fwdude.

Without Jesse Helms there to hold back the deluge, who knows what those crazy NC voters will do?

Sounds like YOU belong at DailyKos, Troll. Get lost if you can’t properly support true marriage. It’s a hard rule here on FR. Go ask Jim.
