"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and turn from thier wicked ways then will I hear from heaven, forgive thier sins, and heal thier land" (KJV) It's in Chronicles where evades me!
“If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, AND PRAY and turn from thier wicked ways then will I hear from heaven, forgive thier sins, and heal thier land”
NOW IT’S RIGHT!
If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, AND PRAY and SEEK my FACE and turn from thier wicked ways then will I hear from heaven, forgive thier sins, and heal thier land
2 Chronicles 7:14
I believe God opens the eyes of those who want to see! Until recently, most of America just didn’t want to see the truth - they DENIED it with great scorn!
Now that God sees the mass of America waking from their self-absorbed stupors, I pray that He will continue to awash them in the truth!
I don’t see much evidence of humbling and turning away from wicked ways. Just the opposite. God will not be mocked and will bring judgement on us as a nation accordingly.
2 Chronicles 7:14
The people who founded this country thought this way and God did great things through them.
Unfortunately, we have drifted farther and farther from that reality.
Out of context use of that verse Vet.... I actually think our nation is under judgement
He is at work both saving and warning this nation.
The issue with 2 Chron 7:14 ...
Is that you have to read all the way to v 19.
God promised TWO things, with conditions—
If you DO these things, I’ll heal your land.
BUT IF YOU DON’T I will (effectively) punish you terribly.
Read the entire promise v7 - v19.
God is just.
I think a lot of people are praying right now for his intervention.
I wish I could say. I know that multitudes are on their knees daily for this country. I know there are good Christian people in all walks of life, at all levels of government, law enforcement, the military, business and (believe it or not) in public education.
As General Robert E. Lee said (I assume it’s historically accurate) in Ted Turner’s movie ‘Civil War’, “All we can do is our duty; the rest is in God’s Hands”.
That is where I am at mentally. We have to do what we can and trust God with the outcome.
We are in the End Times and America is not mentioned in Revelations. Make sure your preps are adequate because we don’t know how bad it will really get before the Rapture.
God is at work giving each citizen the strength to do what is right. Whether we do or not is up to us.
GOD helps those who help themselves :
GET BUSY ,,, Nov. 2011 ,,,, SALVATION or DAMNATION ,,, you decide .
I don’t think so. America is not an End Times player. God will work tirelessly for his people, but the only nation he is out to save is Israel.
I do think that God originally blessed this nation because so many believers migrated here, but we have free will, which we as a nation used to push God out of our lives, slaughter the unborn, and morally decline in general.
He puts Kings in power and he takes them out of power....goodbye Zero.
yes. my wife and i pray every morning for this.
I pray daily for a spiritual revival in America, knowing a political revival must inevitably follow. I think that is what is happening.
If God doesn’t judge America, he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.
Of all the potential candidates she alone is openly candid about being prayer-led in her actions and decisions. She is the most unashamed witness for Jesus Christ in the field. If we are to again receive God's blessing upon this land, we would do well to know which candidate most closely follows His leading, and vote accordingly.
There are doubtless those who don't think we need God, and that perhaps we can do this on our own; perhaps even that we should do it on our own... despite that this is precisely how we got to where we are today.
By turning our backs on God as a nation, and doing what we thought we knew best. It's time for a change. We've taken God out of our classrooms and replaced Him with metal detectors. It is time for a change.
Sarah Palin is that change.
That expression - God helps those who help themselves is actually not Biblical.
The saying, God helps those who help themselves was coined by/ attributed to (in modern times) Benjamin Franklin, a Deist.
A Deist is one who believes that while a supreme being did indeed create the universe, that supreme being does not involve generally itself in human affairs, except on a miraculous basis.
He has saved us as a nation since we were born. But this massive turning away has brought judgement upon us. If we let G-d take the blinders off,we can see it everyday.
As I see one obstacle after another (i.e., certain people) standing in the way of Sarah’s run for President self-destruct, I certainly thank God. As long as some Americans are resisting the abortionists and Communists, there is reason to hope that God will have mercy on the U.S.
I hope so.
It is customary in Catholic masses to pray for our political leaders, that God will guide and enlighten them. Even in the clinton years, I prayed that God would somehow enlighten him.
I just can’t do it with Obama. Instead, I pray for our COUNTRY, not our current leaders. If any of those leaders can help our country, then that’s as good as praying for them anyway, because God will guide and make use of them.
I think we all need to pray for our country, that God will lead it back to those traditional values that have been so widely forgotten and lost. Nothing else can fix the mess we have gotten into.
That is the passage the Bible was open to when Ronald Reagan took the oath of office.
Will he be surprised at the outcome?
I’m not religious personally.
I think more people that believe are out to save this country from it’s current disastrous path.
Consider this from Jeremiah 14 where he asked God why there was no deliverance from a terrible drought:(actually read the entire chapter) "Thus saith Jehovah unto this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Jehovah doth not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins. And Jehovah said unto me, Pray not for this people for their good. When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt-offering and meal-offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence." (Jer 14:10-12 ASV)
I suspect Romans 1 has more application than a promise made to Israel..
He needs to hurry.
I give you an Amen.
Absolutely. Tens of millions praying for that every day are going to be heard by Him. That’s more than ten good men in Sodom or Gommorah. You can see the answer forming up right now, just as in 1980.
If you think God is trying to save this country, then you also must say that God was trying to destroy this country by letting the zero be elected.
I think God is judging this country, time’s come to pay the Piper.
I’ve been praying for divine intervention from day 1.
Brother, may I suggest that in 0bama's case specific prayer for our political leaders is most necessary? I pray daily for 0bama's repentance and conversion.
"Thy Kingdom come, thy Will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven ..."
"Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you"
"O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy."
Yes! And keep praying...also this promise:
Job 5:12: He thwarts the hands of the craft so their hands will achieve no success.
The promise was to Israel, and it will be fulfilled—at the end...however, if enough people in our country did turn, or repent from their wicked ways, beginning with our illustrious leaders, perhaps God would relent and in His mercy deliver us from the consequences of those ways.
Of course you can. We should pray every day for President Obama:
Psalm 109:8 - "Let his days be few, and let another take his office."
I should add that I’m not saying that God will deliver us from all the consequences, because sin always has consequences, but perhaps the full measure of what we deserve...
“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” Rom 11:5
LOL! You beat me to it!
NOW ITS RIGHT!
