Perry: Wrong then or wrong now
September 14, 2011 | Vanity

Many supporters of Gov. Perry have come to his defense over this Gardasil matter. The arguments are: (1) Gardasil should have been mandatory with the "opt-out" provision; (2) No big deal because the Texas legislature killed the Executive Order; or (3) as Perry says today, he made a mistake, should have made it "opt-in." Now comes word that Perry's top donor was the Republican Governors Association and that Merck began donating to RGA when Perry became its head.

Government bureaucrats can take the advice of doctors and scientists in order to help them make administrative decisions. This does not include forcing people or leading them to think they have no choice but to get vaccinated against diseases which are behaviorally spread.

You lost, kid. Be a man and admit it. Think you’re going to swing people to Captain Gardasil by insulting everyone else ?

Is the obligatory ‘If talk about Rick Perry’s record, you’re intellectually deficient’ on the list yet? This guy uses that one a lot.

He's not the only one. One Perry liberal critiqued the spelling on the images on my profile page. One critiqued a quote. All, of course, in a weak effort to defend RINO Mitt Perry's liberal past.

if you believed that there were people that could use a cancer preventing medication

Let's be precise. Gardasil does not prevent cancer. It controls , maybe, 4 of over 100 viruses.

http://www.gardasil.com/

GARDASIL is the only human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of HPV. In girls and young women ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 2 types of HPV that cause about 75% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. In boys and young men ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 90% of genital warts cases.

Notice that it says "helps".

GARDASIL may not fully protect everyone, nor will it protect against diseases caused by other HPV types or against diseases not caused by HPV. GARDASIL does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so it’s important for women to continue routine cervical cancer screenings. GARDASIL does not treat cancer or genital warts.

CDC What are the signs, symptoms and potential health problems of HPV?

Most people with HPV do not develop symptoms or health problems from it. In 90% of cases, the body’s immune system clears HPV naturally within two years.

Even if I wanted Perry to be the nominee, I couldn’t go back in time and change what he did.

I’m not afraid to shove your own stuff back in your face.

You don’t like it, do you?

Hyperbole isn’t the same as the outright fact twisting you’ve employed but it shows what a punk liar you are.

Seatbelts save lives, eating broccoli instead of big mack’s saves lives, exercising an hour a day saves lives, not smoking saves lives, etc etc etc...... do you want the government mandating all that? If not, why not? If you do, then someone lied to you when they told you you were a conservative.

If the vaccine is great, why force it? Everyone should voluntarily submit their child for an injection.

This is not the thread to discuss the efficacy of Gardasil ~ we are discussing, instead, the instant use of Fascist methods ........

Now, we can move on to Merck. This is the company that contracted out the testing of various anesthestics and sedatives to a guy who wasn't ethical.

Instead of doing real studies he just made the stuff up.

Merck pushed their anesthetics and sedatives on unsuspecting health care organizations as though everything was on the up and up.

It was pretty obvious to those negatively affected by those phony studies that Merck had failed to ensure that their quality control programs really worked.

I was one of Merck's victims. Unbeknownst to my doctor and her colleagues VERSED, a commonly used sedative used in light surgical procedures had been sold without a warning regarding patients 60 years of age and older ~ they only need about 1/4 the normal dosage.

Their approach to pushing Gardasil seems to have been counseled with the same sort of attitude used when they peddled Versed.

It is quite rational to be disquieted with Perry's approach as well.

Note the kid's tagline.

I give him credit for admitting what many Perry supporters won't.

Very true. It was not an issue until very recently. Frankly, outside of Texas very few knew much about Gov. Perry.

So, now lets ask the vetting questions on this matter and ask the vetting questions regarding any of our potential nominees.

If we don’t ask the questions, how will we and the eventual nominee be prepared for the inevitable onslaught of questions from the Obama campaign including the media?

Nothing but hate spew, personal and gratuitous attacks and other gutteries in post after post. And you acknowledge you’re proud to be a RINO in your tag. You have no business on a Conservative website.

You’re right—that word “helps,” and many others such as “could,” “might” and “suggests” are rampant in scientific literature. Very often, the result is data which misleads rather than informs.

By the way, this post # 104 provides excellent detail on the matter and really adds to the discussion.

Investopedia explains Crony Capitalism

Both socialists and capitalists have been at odds with each other over assigning blame to the opposite group for the rise of crony capitalism.

Socialists believe that crony capitalism is the inevitable result of pure capitalism. This belief is supported by their claims that people in power, whether business or government, look to stay in power and the only way to do this is to create networks between government and business that support each other.

Capitalists believe that crony capitalism arises from the need of socialist governments to control the state. This requires businesses to operate closely with the government to achieve the greatest success.

I agree, I really thought Bachman was the most principled out of the bunch, unil she only went after Perry hard and kind of let Romney off the hook - she should hitRomney much harder on RomneyCare I like Cain and even starting to like Newt, but they have no shot.
So we are stuck for now with who have.

It's actually a Sarah Palin talking point from FoxNews on Monday night.

"I knew there was something to it," Palin said of learning while she was Alaska's governor that her Texas counterpart had given the go-ahead to the vaccine. "Now we're finding that now, yea, something was up with that issue. It was an illustration or bit of evidence of some crony capitalism."

Yup. Starting 3-4 years ago I got some of the Slick Willard trolls to openly admit the same and got them banned from polluting this website. This one has such hatred in his heart that he can only respond with vicious comments in violation of posting guidelines. The typical liberal when they’ve lost the argument.

Bachmann is not my candidate, but why shouldn’t she have gone after the new guy, the guy leading the field right now?
