Deep Corruption at the Obama Justice Dept:Americans should get furious,and fast,about the abuses

Start rattling the chains. Start ratcheting up the hue and cry. Fire up the masses. It's long past time to force mass resignations at, and possible prosecutions of members of, the Obama Justice Department -- and, more broadly, of the West Wing itself.

Forgive all the links, but the scope of the corruption is so large as to defy adequate descriptions, in a single column, of each abomination. The reality is that these Obama/Holder minions at DoJ are dangerous to the very heart of constitutional, republican (small 'r') government. Last fall in the Spectator's print edition I did a broad overview of the problems. In the September issue of The New Criterion, Andy McCarthy does a wonderful job outlining the problems with the Holder department and with other examples of Obamite executive overreach. Of course the Black Panther case, the dismissal of which I (on the Washington Times editorial page) and the Times' ace reporter Jerry Seper on the news side were the first to report in print (I later discovered that the fabulous Michelle Malkin wrote on it online a day or two earlier), still hasn't been adequately handled. And the outrageous DoJ blocking of non-partisan elections in Kinston, N.C., solely to benefit the Democratic Party , is now being examined in the courts, with the administration having lost, big, in the latest round.

More recently, the burgeoning scandal of the "Fast and Furious" gun-running blow-up, already a huge embarrassment for the Justice Department, keeps moving closer to the White House. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, for her part, denied direct knowledge of this dangerous idiocy but as Dexter Duggan reports at the Wanderer (sign-in required), the U.S. Attorney who ran the moronic program, Dennis Burke, has been sponsored throughout his entire career by Napolitano.

I want to get furious at the lackadaisical GOP Senators who did not do their job and when voting Holder into office. See http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/03/us/politics/03holder.html

Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, for example, said he was sure that Mr. Holder would be “a responsible legal officer and not a politician.”

Impeachment will never again happen in our lifetimes. Unless it is a GOP POTUS and the Dems have 60 or more in the Senate. The pubbies just don’t have the stones for it.

They also went along in allowing the Special Prosecutor law to expire. Would be rather helpful to have that now looking into the Philly Black Panthers, Solyndra, Fast and Furious, etc.

Likely, in my estimation.
The Solyndra-incident may indeed be illegitimate ethics violations (maybe even wholly illegal), but Fast & Furious is much more than just being illegal, it is an act of war on a foreign state (Mexico) as a violation of firearm-trafficking treaties AND in the aiding of criminal elements to kill its citizens; it is an entrapment scheme against an already heavily regulated enterprise (gun dealers); it is the US Government becoming an accessory to murders of both American and Mexican Citizens.

The Declaration of independence put quite succinctly what the founders thought of this: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

I wholeheartedly DISAGREE, It is an act of TREASON,Congress “Officially Declared” a “War on Drugs” in 1987. These asswipes willfully and knowingly provided DIRECT SUPPORT to the ENEMY in the “War on Drugs” While the United States was Officially at WAR.

TREASON is the Only Appropriate charge. at the very least they are ENEMY COMBATANTS, They should all be charged,tried, and upon conviction, HANGED on the WHITE HOUSE LAWN.

My point is there are MANY, MANY ways in which F&F is illegal, and dangerous, and treacherous.

Do you have a citation of the official document? That would be quite interesting to see; until I actually read the proof I would say that the phrase is a slogan rather than an actual war.

Treason is defined as “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”

Note the ‘them’ this means that the enemies are those of the States themselves, rather than the FEDERAL government; considering the cartel presence in TX and AZ and the danger these cartels pose to those states it is treason REGARDLESS of the state of war.

It is, but we NEED to build a case against all the wrongdoings in order to utterly smash them even apart from the charge of treason. (This is because getting a conviction for Treason is VERY difficult to obtain and, as the government itself would be involved in the trial, may be impossible to obtain.)

What is not arguable is that the Declaration of Independence’s assertion of what is the people’s right and duty when the Government becomes unjust is getting closer.

You might expect all those Woodward & Bernstein wannabes in the media would be leading with stories about corruption at DOJ but they have the more pressing national matter of Sarah Palin's alleged tryst with Glenn Rice to focus their crusading journalist aspirations.

I am quite interested in that citation of the “War on Drugs” being a literal war as it could then be used as a foundation for claiming that the recent Indiana supreme Court decision ruling that the Citizen has no right to resist an unlawful police entry is actually a violation of the 3rd Amendment.
