The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) may be upset with Boeings plan to operate a non-union plant in South Carolina, but most Americans think it should be allowed to.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone poll finds that 64% think Boeing has the right to open the plant in South Carolina while just 21% disagree. When respondents are told that the NLRB believes that opening the plant is an act of retaliation against the union, the numbers barely move. Only 17% think the agency has the right to prevent Boeing from opening the new facility while 64% disagree.
The House is expected to approve a bill barring the NLRB from getting involved with Boeings operation of a $750 million aircraft assembly line in South Carolina a right-to-work state -- instead of Washington State. In April, the labor board filed a complaint against Boeing for opening the plant

It is clear that Obama and his army think that South Carolina is only fit for growing chickens and driving pick up trucks. It is a message to the workers of South Carolina from the condescending twits at the whitehouse that unions select just who gets the work. South Carolina is unimportant to the agenda driven progressives. South Carolina people of every race and religion should stand up and tell the whitehouse just what they think of them. Start
with web sites , newspapers, billboards and whatever works.
Clearly 17% of America has no idea why companies off-shore jobs. To suggest that some government bureaucracy has the power to tell a company where in America it can operate indicates a flawed or non-existent concept of freedom.
17% is about one’s downside risk in Russian roulette, coincidentally.
As a union member, I can tell you you've hit the nail on the head. The rank and file have no real voice and leadership is chosen the same way the Soviet politburo was "elected".
I have learned over the years to discount ANY poll that doesn’t reveal the demographics involved and the questions asked. Pollsters can frame any topic to any desired point of view.
21% statists/totalitarians. Nice. Well, at least we know who the enemies are, and fortunately we still outnumber them.
There’s something wrong with American people when 46% think a corporation shouldn’t be allowed to move its operations to whatever State it wants to. The Marxists have done a splendid job of indoctrination.
Sorry, I read that as 54%..... should be 36%. The fact still remains. It should be 100% in favor of Boeing.
muir_redwoods: “17% is about ones downside risk in Russian roulette, coincidentally.”
That’s an interesting point, and it accurately reflects what would happen if that 17% actually had their way—America would be dead.
I think you meant either 21% or 17%.
Stop the commies now.
I do not think you will get much support from SC Congressman Clyburn who was lobbying the state legislature and governor when they were trying to attract Boeing to SC that Boeing be required to hire for the line sufficient percentages that represent the racial diversity of the area.If that were the case I would have to look under the hood of any Boeing plane I was about to board to assure it was not an affirmative action assembly.
It's a ratchet! Two paces towards authoritarianism, then the GOP get into power and (maybe) take one step back. And so, we slowly 'progress' towards the left. The GOP - just as power addicted as The Left.
* How closely have followed recent news reports about Boeing and the National Labor Relations Board?
2* Boeing currently operates a plant in Washington state with union workers. The Company wants keep that plant open and open a new plant in South Carolina with non union workers. Should Boeing be able to open a plant in South Carolina with non union workers?
3* The NLRB says Boeing decision to open a new plant in South Carolina with non union workers is an act of retaliation against the union. Should the NLRB be allowed to prevent Boeing from opening a plant in South Carolina?
4* Would you like to belong to a labor union where you work? (Only answered by 499 employed adults)
5* Are you a union member primarily because you support the union or because you are required to join the union where you work? (Only answered by 81 adults who are in a union)
6* If workers do not have labor union at their company, how difficult is it for workers to form a union?
7* Have Labor unions outlasted their usefulness?

The 21 are the standard leftist fascists who want govt to control everything. The 15 percent not sure are those who are profoundly ignorant or just afraid to commit to any opinion.
Thats pretty sad that its only 64%. For arguments sake, lets say that 10% of the people surveyed were obama supporters and union a**holes. The survey should have been 90% against NLRB and 10% for the union a**holes. Sad indeed.
When I read the headline, I thought it said 54% say Boeing should be allowed (my eyes are swollen due to allergies)....hence, my reply about 46% believing a corporation shouldn’t be allowed to operate in whatever State they want to. IMO, as Americans, 100% should believe a corporation can move to whatever State it wants.
Union thugs.
Another member of the South Carolina delegation, Tim Scott, authored the bill. It's one sentence long (the executive summary is four sentences). It passed with a margin of 25 (map courtesy of NYT see where the scum is).
Last December, Mr. Scott declined an invitation to join the CBC.
I saw your post on the Voting Rights Act and I agree with you.
It's like a monopoly..the VRA perpetuates it...and it is time to bust it wide open..
