WASHINGTON (AP) -- Drawing a bright line with congressional Republicans, President Barack Obama is proposing $1.5 trillion in new tax revenue as part of his long-term deficit reduction plan, according to senior administration officials.

The president on Monday will announce a proposal that includes repeal of Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest taxpayers, nearly $250 billion in reductions in Medicare spending, $330 billion in cuts in other mandatory benefit programs, and savings of $1 trillion from the withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, the officials said.

The plan includes no changes in Social Security and does not include an increase in the Medicare eligibility age, which the president had considered this summer.

Buy larger wallets, so you can bring enough cash for a loaf of bread.

While there is no mention of going after the cheats in the system and the corruption in management, he is planning to cut services. Will anyone ask him how this goes with his concerns about health care for all?

Boy king has a "raise taxes on the rich" real obsession as does his party. The entire RAT party desperately needs some mental health advice for this OCD.

Dont get me started on the Ben Bernack.

He has piped down a bit and they have sent Gittner out to change the tack. “Please, Please, Please..”

Merkel gave Geitner the finger.

Yes, that would be a 100% tax rate too, since they won’t be finding jobs under this clown’s administration.

Newt nailed it. We should increase tax revenue by reducing tax rates (see Laffer curve).

Then eliminate capital gains tax, and the economy would take off like a rocket. We’d pay down the debt and work our way out of this mess in a short time.

...and have more jobs and spending money to boot.

Reaganomics is recent history. How come we can’t remember anything?

0bama overplays his card by throwing in other stuff that he thinks would sweeten his proposal and also appease . Had he just stick to one thing, increase the tax rates for the super rich, he would put the House Republicans in defensive: increase the tax or be portrayed as siding with the super rich. Thanks God, they are greedy.

IMHO the guy is a major dipshit that is pissing off both sides of the isle.

We can hardly look at his accomplishments and say..

Hey..There is a glimmer of hope....

He is the worst President of a lifetime.
He has pissed in the waters of life.

He’s in his element. In a one-on-one debate with Obama, he’d be lethal.
