After devoting his first New York campaign trip to Donald Trump and Fashion Week fetes, 2012 presidential hopeful Rick Perry is getting down to business this time around.
Perry is back in Manhattan this week, courting voters in the city's large Hispanic and Jewish communities two typically Democratic voting blocs that the GOP hopes to woo away in 2012.
The Texas Governor is hosting a rally with Israeli politicians and Jewish-American activists at the W Hotel tomorrow morning. The event is centered around President Obama's visit to the United Nations and the Palestinian application for statehood, expected to be submitted to the General Assembly this week.
The Jerusalem Post reports that members of Israel's Likud Party will be at the press conference, and plan to ask Perry to support an initiative to annex the West Bank in response to the Palestinian bid for statehood.

Agree ;o)
Benjamin Netanyahu is a MAN’S MAN! Obama at best should be the leader of the GLBT community.
Totally agree.
The NY Jews, while small in number, are not unconnected.
Lots of Jewish money there (New York) that is upset at the Israel hating Muzzlim in the White House. Money talks! Jewish money will go Republican in 2012!
I didn't think I said he wasn't sincere. I have no reason to think otherwise.
Stoned moron on the right. Stoned as in he looks like he just smoked some pot. Or to be charitable, he downed a few beers.
I’m glad he did this - a smart move. But I also think he genuinely supports Israel. It’s not just an act to get money, like everything Hussein does.
Re: your tagline - Why don’t you have a pro-Perry tagline, instead? What’s it like to have someone you’ve never met hold you in thrall?
She really lives rent free in your head.
Ka-ching..
Both...the guy is such a mental basket-case...he has to stay high so he doesn’t have to face himself...reality...
It’s my understanding that Rick has long been a staunch defender of Israel, so I’m not at all surprised by this. Some may try to call it pandering. I don’t see it that way. In this instance I think his faith guides him.
I believe Rick is using his place in history to influence events. He’s on the side of what’s just, and it may be that he can make a difference. He stands with the Chosen Ones.
And so what? Isn’t this what presidential candidates do? OR does it just rain down from heaven?
I know that all the reportage about the “Jewish” 9th district is that the majority of Jews in the district voted for Turner. They did not. They voted for the Dem but only gave him a 6 point margin rather than the usual 20-30 point margin. The district is only 40 per cent Jewish. There were enough Republican votes in the non Jewish constituency in that district to offset the advantage the Jewish voters gave the Dem. My point is that it is not a question of whether the Dem will get a majority among the Jewish constituency. It is a question of how much of a majority they give him. The general rule is that the less of them that show up at the polls, the better chance a Republican candidate has.
Not a small percentage in Florida and it isn’t pandering to jews when they are right on Israel. That’s like saying Roosevelt was catering to jews by opposing Hitler.
Heck, he might even pick up a few Freeper votes.
Do you mean money? or the obama silvertongued “gift” of being able to tell each individual group what they want to hear?
Most influential “hispanic businessmen” are members of NCLR. How come no one is mentioning THAT? or don’t that suit the narrative?
A lot more than a few...the very idea of another 4 years of barry....will creep any of them out...
I’m confident that most will cave at the last minute...kinda like I did with McCain, telling myself that I was really voting for Palin while breaking my promise to NEVER vote for McCain.
