Are people boycotting 'Dolphin Tale' over Morgan Freeman,s hateful comments?
vanity | 27 Sept 2011

The movie 'Dolphin Tale' was expected to finish first this weekend and finished third. I've heard two radio hosts today suggest this is backlash over Morgan Freeman's comments saying the Tea Party is out to "get the black guy."

Anyone out there changing their plans to see the movie?

For me personnally, I really don’t care what any hollywood type thinks about anything, I’d much rather read books.

We were thinking about going to see the Dolphin movie, then heard about Freeman’s comments and nixed the idea. Did not end out going to any movie - just went out and had a nice lunch instead. Also looking forward to the new Dark Knight- in IMAX.

Freeman was on the outs with the Hollywood crowd due to calling Black History month stupid.
**********************
Yep...

Mike Wallace: Black history month you find ridiculous. Why?

Morgan Freeman: You’re going to relegate my history to a month?

Mike Wallace: Oh, c’mon.

Morgan Freeman: What do you do with yours? Which month is white history month? Well, c’mon, tell me
.
Mike Wallace: I’m Jewish.

Morgan Freeman: OK, which month is Jewish history month?

Mike Wallace: There isn’t one.

Morgan Freeman: Oh, oh. Why not? Do you want one?

Mike Wallace:No.

Morgan Freeman: No, I don’t either. I don’t want a black history month. Black history is American history.

Mike Wallace: How we gonna get rid of racism until…

Morgan Freeman: Stop talking about it. I’m going to stop calling you a white man. And I’m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman.

I don’t hate ya. Your decision, your life. I don’t want to go and give him support, that’s all. He’s acts as a racist so makes me uneasy supporting someone like that. Very disppointing he said these things and after learning he married his step grand daughter (she is like 27 at the time, he’s what 70 at the time?) is another mark on his character.

Morgan Freeman is a really good actor. Watching him on film is like you are there.
Morgan Freeman needs to leave politics to the politicians. He also would do well to do what Bobby Blue Bland says in one of his songs. "Leave the young thing alone"
He is not alone. Some in Hollywood think they have a free pass to comment on things they know absolutely nothing about.
Morgan will not get any more of my hard earned $$$

I think his recent appearance in "Diddling Miss E'dina" has something to do with it.

I dread going to movies. My wife and kids occasionally drag me along and I go to hang out with them. I can’t remember a movie that I thought was decent in the last five years. As for T.V. aside from some reality shows (idol, so you think you can dance, pawn stars, american pickers) the sit-coms and other productions are unwatchable.

“I haven’t gone to a movie in ages because of the kind of people involved in that business.”

I gave up all TV and movies during the OJ trial. TV and movies disgust me; not generally because of the plot, but because of what I know about the actor’s political views. I don’t want to support them in any way.

Having said that, I have twice eaten with friends who then watched a movie. One starred Bruce Willis as a retired CIA agent. The CIA was portrayed as killing wantonly. At one point a CIA agent is hustling around an awesome house talking absently on the phone to his wife while he arranges papers and furniture. Then, after a charmingly domestic conversation we see he has a man tied up, standing on a chair with a noose that’s hanging from the rafters. He kicks the chair away and the man “commits suicide.” If the lefties view the CIA this way, why are they so in favor of big government? Is it because they are in charge of big government and (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) we all know who the CIA will be thusly killing?

In the second movie, aliens invade Earth and of course their main target is Los Angeles. The aliens are literally faceless caricatures and I realized that Hollywood had to use faceless aliens as using humans would mean making the Marines good guys against a human foe, like jihadists. We can’t have that. It was a mindless, violent plot where things blew up.

For some reason people who have been lucky enough to get rich singing or acting seem to feel that gives them the right to tell others how to live.

The really smart ones have the good sense to keep their politics and their religion to themselves.

The really stupid ones cannot figure out that pissing off half of your audience isn’t good for business.

Morgan Freeman gets some good roles, he plays some smart people, but in real life he is just another idiot racist who is screwing his stepdaughter, and has been since she was a teen.Which really upset his wife of 25 years and his mistress Mary Joyce Hays. His brains are in his Johnson.

I changed my mind. Saw the trailer and thought, “hmmm. The Kids might like this.....”. Then he ran his mouth and I said “meh. Never mind.”. We went to the park instead, which fit my Obama era budget better anyway.

Nope...that racist is done. I shut him off every chance I get...and I used to like him and thought a great deal of him as an actor.
