Non-Hispanic whites are a dwindling share of the U.S. population, with their numbers dropping in the Northeast and Midwest and growing only modestly in the South and West, the Census Bureau said Thursday.
Whites declined in 15 states, almost all in the industrial and farming states from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania, and from Kansas to Ohio. They also declined in California and three Southern states, including Maryland.
A Census Bureau analysis of the 2010 count showed that the number of non-Hispanic whites rose over the decade from 194.5 million to 197 million, but the 1.2 percent growth rate fell far short of the national increase of 9.7 percent. Non-Hispanic whites are now 64 percent of the population, down from 69 percent a decade ago.
The census also reported that the black population grew by 12 percent. African Americans now make up almost 13 percent of the population, a small increase over the decade. More than half, 57 percent, live in the South, up from 55 percent a decade ago. And six out of 10 blacks live in 10 states, including Virginia and Maryland.
The census analysis of the nation’s white and black population underscores the transformative nature of growth in the 21st century. The number of Hispanics and Asians is soaring, the number of blacks is growing slowly and whites are almost at a standstill.

Some Latin American countries had a lot of immigration post-independence, from Italy, Germany, Spain, the Balkans. If someone of German heritage born in Argentina comes to the US are they counted as Hispanic? Or someone of Croatian descent from Punta Arenas, Chile?

All three of those groups would go to Australia or the UK before they came to the US. Besides the Greeks and Italians won’t leave their generous welfare states for the relatively stingy bennies of the USA. Even insolvency won’t keep Greeks off the dole.

“Hispanic” is _more than_ ethnicity. Like those who cannot see the forest from the trees, we are seeing human evolution at work right before our eyes. For roughly the last 500 years, we have been seeing the emergence of a new “sub-racial” category: Hispanics. They didn’t exist before the discovery of The New World. But they certainly exist now.
And (again, “La Raza”) they certainly and obviously have their own identity and consciousness.

Americans are silly to consider "Hispanics" a race (the only people on earth who do so), yet include non European ethnicities like Arabs, Persians, Jews, and Armenians as white.
Counting them as white violates the liberal agenda. I too have known blond and blue eyed Hispanics.
Bigotry is very strong in Mexico between the light skinned and dark skinned (so much so that the light skinned want to expel the dark skinned to the US), but it doesn't exist according to the liberal media. Only white Republicans can be bigots.
The black Hispanics are the natives who occupied the area before the Spanish came, much like the American Indian. Most aren’t aware of it but the Spanish people are mostly blond haired and blue eyed. The Spanish controlled most of Central and South America and the Caribbean area and the southern and western parts of North America as well as the Philippines. There was the normal cross breeding and some of the original Spanish stayed in all those places. Thus, today we have both dark and light skinned people there. The blonds look down on the darks.
Along the east coast, "The South" refers to those states south of Mason's and Dixon's line.
Where do you suppose that line is? Where do you suppose Maryland is, in relation to it?
Hispanics are not a race but an ethnic group, i.e., those from Spanish speaking countries. You'll find black Hispanics, white Hispanics, even a few Mongoloid Hispanics plus mixtures of the above. "Brown" Hispanics are often a mixture of Spanish and Indian (mestizos) or even those who are 100% Indian. Spaniards are as white as Italians or French. But in conquering the New World they often intermarried with the local population, producing quite a melting pot.
We are getting 4,000 units (Section 8) in our town by a lawsuit won by a Leftist judge sponsored by a Social Justice (Soros) organization.
They want the town to be wrecked.
Without finding some way to control the flow of illegals it is irreversible. I can only hope, that with time and a reduction of socialist programs to support the the parasites on society, what will emerge will still be American. Perhaps without the tidal wave from Mexico flooding over us there will be more assimilation over time. In a hundred years most white people will have one Mexican ancestor just as now many have one Irish ancestor, a Jewish ancestor or American Indian ancestor. White in America gets a little fuzzy as does black. Before someone jumps on me, I am not saying there is no such thing genetically as white, black, American Indian or Asian just that the lines often become blurry. What is to be avoided is the swamping of American culture by foreign cultures and the further erosion of the American character by the ghetto rats.

Mestizo’ (mestiso) is an actual term in the Philippines, meaning whitish complexion. I have heard it said so many times there. Apparently, the Tagalog’ language has been sprinkled with so many Spanish terms it has seeped into the lexicon after 300 plus years of Spanish rule. But unlike the saps in South and Central America, the Filipinos hated the Spaniards so bad they refused to speak it and always spoke Tagalog as the native tongue.
So they over counted the queers and under counted crackers, no agenda here, no not any at all.
I heard about that too. The white mexicans just didn’t like the dark-skinned mexicans and vice versa. They are more educated and won’t even bother jumping over the border. I heard the same thing from my Italian grandmother that northern Italians treated the Southern Italians like crap due to skin color.
