Cain's "Brainwashed" Remark Was "Racist, Bigoted"
Real Clear Politics ^ | September 30, 2011 | Real Clear Politics video

Posted on 09/30/2011 7:47:03 PM PDT by Not gonna take it anymore

Democratic strategist Cornell Belcher says there is a media "double-standard" over Herman Cain saying blacks have been "brainwashed." Belcher calls Mr. Cain a bigot and a racist and says this incident is a "teachable moment." (h/t TRS)

CORNELL BELCHER, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: First of all, do you think you're going to invite me on the show and then I'm not going to talk about the ridiculousness of that statement? Two things. One is a great way to sort of get people on your side and win voters is to attack their intelligence.

So great job there. Really sensible, Herman Cain.

The second part here is, it's really a teachable moment. You know, if I came on your show, Anderson, and I said, all Jewish people are brainwashed, I probably wouldn't be invited back to CNN and I assure you the condemnation would be swift and it'd be powerful and be strong.

What Herman Cain said was a racist, bigoted statement and it should treated like a racist and bigoted person who makes those racist and bigoted statements.

COOPER: Ari, what about that? I mean saying black voters have been brainwashed, how does that language play outside his supporters?

I was asked by our HR department at work what my race was. She read off a whole bunch of options, two of which were Caucasian and native American. I answered that I was native American, because I was born in Yonkers, NY, and I've never been to "Caucasia." She wasn't amused, but I didn't give a damn.

An unlike Herman Cain, unfortunately Obama and his minions took business and economic classes from the Underpants Gnomes.

I was just kidding you. But since my comment I was thinking a bit more and about Colombus and his home city Genoa or even more specifically the departure spanish city where he set out to sail.

That made me wonder, where would the Genoa of native Americans have been? I know it's possible that they may have come from different places far from each other but from where exactly. I would be interested in finding a particular language that has the closest match to the language of the native American. Imagine what we could learn about them if we could ever learn where their Genoa is (that is if we don't already know and I'm just ignorant of it).

Where do you think they came from? Eastern Russia? South East Asia? The pacific islands?

Every time I am asked my race, I reply “HUMAN”!

I haven’t had any major repercussions for that. Yet...

Having traced my genealogy extensively, I am of English/French/German/ One Iroquois in there/ Irish mix. Mostly English landing in MA in 1628 and less so French and German. Basically a mutt.

Which makes me exactly what I am : a plain old American! When my grandmother, born in Germany, was asked during WWII where her loyalties were by a neighbor, after she hit him with her broom as she w as sweeping the sidewalk, she said in perfect English (notice she had
learned English) “I'd kill Hitler myself if I could. I am an American with sons fighting the Japs. Don't ever ask me that again”.( Ok, she still had a little feisty German left in her!)

Interesting! She was more American than the Americans we have here today... bums protesting and sleeping and smelling up Wall Street with their anti-American signs.

My 8th great grandfather (on my mom’s side) was John Proctor who was convicted and executed in Salem, Mass for being a witch in 1692.

If you're Jewish it would be OK. Just as blacks, like Jesse Jackson, can use the n word, and say he'd like to cut Obama's nuts off and no blacks complain.

Cornell Belcher

A Washington insider says dapper data guru Cornell Belcher represents a potential conflict of interest for the cable network, now that he's reportedly going to work for Obama's reelection effort.

In February, CNN announced that Belcher - who did polling for the Democratic National Committee from 2005 to 2008, including Obama's presidential campaign - was joining its team of on-air political contributors.

Who is Cain supposed to have racist, bigoted attitudes toward?

He seems quite normal and well balanced in the debates. Is he supposed to be bigoted and hold racist beliefs towards white people, black people, asian people, hispanic people,etc...who???

Is the person making these accusations crazy?

Obama quote from his speech th the annual awards dinner of the Congressional Black Caucus:

“Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your maching shoes,” he said, his voice rising as applause and cheers mounted. “Shake it off. Stop complainin’. Stop grumblin’. Stop cryin’. We are going to press on. We have work to do.”

Now what is the difference between Cain saying that they are brainwashed and Obama telling them that they are sleepy grumblers, complainers and cry babies? Where was Belcher then? Did he scream about Obama being a racist and a bigot?

Calling blacks lazy, grumbling, complaining cry babies is worse than calling them brainwashed. At least brainwashed is something that can happen to you unawares and it doesn't take a stupid person to be brainwashed either. It can actually happen to anyone unless they are on their toes and realize what is going on. When you feel like a victim you are much more likely to be vulnerable and everyone knows that blacks are constantly being programmed by liberals, the media and others to see themselves as victims.

My 10th great grandfather testified against Rebecca Nurse at the Salem Witch trials, and then later his grandson married the Rebecca Nurse named after her Grandmother!

And, yes, my grandmother would have cleaned out Wall St with her broom!

"I'd bet 50% of "African" Americans couldn't find Africa on a map. That is their way of thinking they are something other than Americans."

Herman Cain is not a racist, but based on your ignorant blanket statement, I surmise that you might be.

If Cain is nominated on the Republican ticket, next year is going to be a barrel of laughs.

Nominating Cain would be unfair. It would be to hit the Democrat Party below the belt!

Plus, winning the first 50 of the 57 states would be unequal. That's not fair!

100% agree. Hyphenated Americans are the problem. Guess I should call myself British-American or Euro-American. Its stupid and the hyphenated’s are the folks that wants some separation from the US.
