Have warned my family and friends to “not fall in love with a candidate - he or she ain’t gonna marry you, empty your trash, wash your dishes, raise your kids or give you money they don’t have”
Your candidate should be like your UPS guy - deliver what’s rightfully yours and be on time.
The new Gallup should come out today - last week he was still leading positive intensity, with name recognition at 51%. That polling was taken before the debates and Florida poll. It will be interesting to see today.
I was actually just fine with Perry until the 2nd debate he was in when he called me a bigot. I don’t think he mean’t to, I just think that he cannot communicate properly. Like Dubya. So I let that one slide.
Then in the last debate he tried attacking Mitt Romney and sounded like Dubya again. Then he called me heartless.
So I realized that what we have here is a Texas governor that can’t friggin’ speak and thinks that you are a heartless bigot if you take a hard line on illegal aliens.
You know....Dubya.

Many of us were enthusiastic about Perry - with the Texas jobs record and straight talk...then we vetted him and made a judgement - that he is not measuring up to our high standards.
What a contrast to the Dims - they’ll embrace a turnip i.e. Kerry, Dukakis, H.Dean, Gore, Clinton, Obama.

I too will vote for “ABO” (ANYONE but Obama!), but “Executive Experience” isn’t all that it is cracked up to be...After all, Clinton, Carter, Dukakis, Romney, etc were all governors of their states before running for president.Two of the aforementioned actually made it, to the great detriment of our beloved country. I agree with you on the second amendment, and military experience, of course! :-)
I suppose a good barometer is how much the LEFT HATES a candidate, and Man do they HATE Herman Cain! LOL.

It's sickening is what it is. Disingenuous crap. A year out and some people can't wait to do their CNN-wannabe act by tearing and ripping at any single perceived "impurity". It's appalling.

I’m not sure if anyone posted this elsewhere on FR, but in La Crosse WI the local Republicans had a gathering the other night partly to honor Senator Kapanke (R) who lost the recall election a couple of months ago. About 150 local Republican officeholders/supporters attended, so someone got the idea they should have a straw poll. I don’t know the other results, but they were somewhat surprised that Cain won handily with 42% of the votes of those attending.

I don’t know the details, but Cain should go to the black and Hispanic news sources to spread his message. I have a feeling a lot of black mothers, for instance, are fed up with what the dependency economy has done to their families. They could be quite receptive to a message of personal responsibility coming from a black candidate.
In fact, I’d bet that a lot of them hoped that they would get that message from the current President, are sorely disappointed now, and would love the chance to get it right a second time around. They might even be thinking that Obama has screwed up the chance of ever electing a black President again, until the Republicans went ahead and nominated one, and one who is more to their liking to boot.
Herman Cain might even get a majority of the black vote after all the frustrated black parents get done knocking some sense into their currently unemployed kids on election day.
And on that note, does anyone know if there’s an online publication where blacks and Hispanics are having this Cain vs. Obama discussion? It would sure be an interesting read.
