Great new idea from the Hollywood Left: Behead the bankers (Robespierre Rewound)
Hotair ^ | 10/03/2011 | Ed Morrissey

Remember when the Tea Party threatened America with its latent violence, proven when a couple of union thugs beat up a rally attendee? Good times, good times. Via RCP, we now hear the counterpoint from the Hollywood Left, as Roseanne Barr appeared on Russia Today to lay out her vision of American politics. It’s not enough to occupy Wall Street — Barr wants to bring back the guillotine and start using it to redistribute the wealth:

“Part of my platform is, of course, the guilty must be punished and that we no longer let our children see their guilty leaders getting away with murder. Because it teaches children, you know, that they don’t have to have any morals as long as they have guns and are bullies and I don’t think that’s a good message,” Barr told Russia Today (RT).

“I do say that I am in favor of the return of the guillotine and that is for the worst of the worst of the guilty.

“I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay, you know, the ability to pay back anything over $100 million [of] personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of $100 million. And if they are unable to live on that amount of that amount then they should, you know, go to the reeducation camps and if that doesn’t help, then being beheaded,” Barr said with a straight face.

Imagine if anyone had said anything remotely like this at a Tea Party rally about socialism and socialists, even in jest. And this isn’t just some unknown provocateur — Barr is one of the most successful entertainers and producers in Hollywood, or at least she was at one point in time.

If this was humor, the only part that was funny was the economics. I’m pretty sure ABC didn’t pay her in hippie beads when she ruled the Nielsen charts in the 1980s and 1990s. Her sister filed a $70 million lawsuit for her share of the proceeds from the TV series Roseanne (thrown out for statute-of-limitations issues), which strongly suggests that Barr exceeded her own “maximum wage” limitation. Besides, it’s always amusing to hear economic policy from someone who doesn’t know the difference between “wages” and “wealth,” even more so than when some political leaders can’t tell the difference between “price” and “cost.”

Just remember that when conservatives organize into grassroots movements, it’s almost always about protecting their own property and individual liberty. When leftists decide to start grassroots movements, like OccupyWallStreet or Barr’s example of leftist populism, it almost always involves seizure of property, threats of violence, and eventually re-education camps and the guillotine.

Why haven’t some of the culprits in the banking scheme been prosecuted?

Great question, very important to understand so that we can find a way forward.

They have not been prosecuted because they are the creators of money under the post-1913 system. Prior to 1933, or 1964 if you prefer, there were competing sources of money. Now, there are none. Credit functions as our money (of course it is not real money).

Everything and everyone depends on the banksters keeping the game going. Dethgroning the banksters is going to be painful - perhaps very painful.

So, they get a free pass.

Apart from the ridiculous beheading rhetoric. Why haven’t some of the culprits in the banking scheme been prosecuted?

Tell me, what laws have been broken? No one has been prosecuted because NO LAWS WERE BROKEN! Take it up with Congress!

It doesn’t surprise me to hear some brainless leftist promote “beheading” and channeling Robespierre. It doesn’t matter what the left uses- blades, guns, ropes, or gas and ovens- the left has ALWAYS murdered its political enemies and oppressed the rest. We have seen it throughout history, and it won’t be any different here.

Here’s the funny part. The leftist leaders won’t tolerate Roseanne’s big mouth any more than they will a lifelong republican. The brownshirts are ALWAYS the first to go.

I've said this before and I'll say it again:

As much a bunch of bastards as the bankers are, I'll defend them against the coming insurrections by the Communists.

Just like Robespierre. He was a dominant figure in the French Revolution and was instrumental in the period of the Revolution commonly known as the Reign of Terror.

Ironically, he himself was finally guillotined without trial in the Place de la Révolution.

I was wondering how long her insanity would take to make it to FR. Can you believe she talked about beheading with a straight face? Did you hear her speak about bringing back the Guillitone? And the left is attempting to label the Tea Party as hate mongers? Sheesh......

The ties the rich have to the bankers are undeniable. Therefore, why not first behead the rich, starting with Hollywood? Got my list of names all ready.

I see very few things that could revive the Dems fortunes at this point. But this one has potential. After the bailouts, the robosigning, the monkeying with interest rates on your credit card, the arbitrary credit limit cuts, the fees upon fees, etc....I just know too many people (and not all of them flaming libs) who frankly agree with Roseanne that these people, if not a beheading, are deserving of a good, sound thrashing.

And there’s tons of votes to be mined out there for the politician who will promise to deliver it to them.

I thought the Left didn't believe in the death penalty ...

Oh, wait: it's not a 'penalty' - it's the 'supreme measure of social defense' ... got it.

My, my! Screeching-Rosie! How you DO carry on! I always thought that you were a solid (no pun intended) Holly-leftie ? What is this about beheading the two most powerful Bankers that the world has ever known?

Rosie! Who will dare to print Federal Reserve Notes after Professor Enema Ben get what you say he deserves?

How about the poor widow of Timmy Gee, our Secretary of Treasure Destruction AND our Sheriff of Nottingham?

Princeton will be in shambles, Widow Gee will be a wreck! Rosie, PLEASE re-consider. Say it was just a joke.

If the NC Governor can claim an “ election-suspension “ was just a joke, then certainly you, as a fellow gal of the female persuasion, can find it in your heart-of-hearts to say beheading was a just another Holly-leftie joke.

BTW, has You Lie Obama asked you to sing at his second Inauguration yet?

RE: Does she know what happened to Robespierre in the end?

My guess is she probably doesn’t know who the man is, and if you brought the name up, she’d give you a blank “who’s he?” stare.
