No surprise here. He said "no" six times or more. The last one at the Reagan Memorial Speech. He basically said there, look at the political site that has several minutes of me saying no before. That's your answer.

People tried to spin that as a "non-answer", I watched him say it and it seemed very clear to me.

Some folks want to try and force Christie on us. Christie is not a true conservative. He may be as close as New Jersey can get at this time and he would certainly be far, far better than Obama or any DNC candiate.

But, although on defense and some economic issues he may do well, on other economic issues and on the social issues and their ipact, he, IMHO, would not be good for the country. I could not support him in the primaries and would do all I could to see him lose the nomination.

I would vote for him over Obama...but, like many conservatives I suspect, would not have my heart and soul into it like I would for a Palin, or Cain, or someone who is much more conservative than Christie is.

The MSM knows this as do the libs, and they continue to try and hold out this idea that he should run for that very reason.

Now on with the real job at hand...defeating...

THE MAN WHO DESPISES AMERICA

a 9% VAT tax will get raised to 11% then 12, then up to 15 within 10 years. it will never end.

It's not a VAT, it's a sales tax. It taxes the retail sale of a product and can be seen at the time of purchase as a line item on the receipt. A VAT is a hidden tax that taxes the increase in value of an item at every step of the manufacture/production process. The Cain sales tax is no different than your State and Local sales tax, which also aren't VATs; just on a national level. Because it is readily apparent, it will be difficult to raise because everybody has to pay it, not just 50% of income tax filers.

A lot of the states now are proportional, not winner take all. I think there is a valid path to a Romney nomination.

The only thing that can stop it is people have to get organized and get behind a single conservative candidate.

That might require Palin coming in — not to run herself, because that would just be further dividing the conservative vote — to make an important and forceful endorsement.

Previously I thought she would endorse Perry. Now I don’t see that happening.

Read my vanity:

Sarah Palin in "The Undecided," or, Only Her Halibut Knows for Sure

Jeb is "next in line" (and the last best hope of the Establishment RINOs, but I repeat myself) to stop Sarah.

Cheers!

He made the right choice. Who knows who would have taken over in New Jersey. Corzine is still smarting from that loss. Good for Chris for staying where he can do the most good.

I honestly think a run at the Presidency would have ruined a good man.

ANY tax can get raised but raising the VAT is 1000 times more difficult for pols. EVERYONE feels the effect of an increase in this sort of tax as opposed to the current system in which tax increases do not have any effect on almost 50% of the tax payers, since they pay NO income taxes to begin with.

Ok, let’s call it a 9% sales tax and not VAT, I guess you are correct on that. But I still see a national sales tax being raised again and again until it reaches 20% as it is in many countries in Europe. I would be for his plan except for this 9 % sales tax.. How about adjusting the numbers without the sales tax component?

I said before that I wouldn't vote 3rd party unless the Republican Party started playing dirty tricks. I'm watching current events very closely.

Please learn what a VAT is. A VAT is not a sales tax. A VAT is a value added tax that is added at each stage of production. the 9-9-9 plan is a not VAT.

Let’s take a car. The VAT would be asessed on the leather for the interior, the rubber for the tyres, and the steel for the chasis. Then once the car is built an additional tax is added.

If you don’t understand this, please google VAT.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Schwarzenegger's "performance" belies that belief. Nixon's performance belies that belief. GHWB's performance belies that belief. GWB's performance belies that belief. ALL of implemented socialist lite policies with results so disastrous that they were succeeded by Democrat majorities.

The problem with RINOs like Romney is that they are not good and conservatives take the blame for the consequences.
