“Still a Possibility:” Sarah Palin May Enter The Race
ABC News ^ | October 4, 2011 | Shushannah Walshe and John Berman

Posted on 10/04/2011 8:11:40 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

According to a source with knowledge of the inner workings of SarahPAC, inside the Palin world it’s still a possibility that she might run. However, as the deadline approaches not even her staff knows what she will decide.

ABC News has separately learned that the Palin team is well aware of the filing deadlines and are keeping abreast of the changes in the deadline. Politico reported Tuesday that a law firm that employs an attorney representing SarahPAC had been making calls to early states inquiring about presidential filing deadlines. SarahPAC would not confirm the report to ABC News. When reached by ABC News, Mark Braden—the attorney mentioned in the Politico report—would also not comment or confirm the report or that he even works with Palin.

As the days creep toward those state filing deadlines, no new staff has been hired. Her core group of about seven staffers runs the organization while a volunteer group completely independent of SarahPAC called Organize4Palin or O4P tries to lay the groundwork in states, most notably Iowa. Those close to Palin acknowledge the decision is hers to make alone with her husband, Todd, and that she could decide the day before the first filing deadline that she wants to throw her hat in the ring....

“Anyone know if Cain supporters are really Palin supporers and will go back to her should she get it?”

looks like it all came out of Perry but you could say that many Perry supporters would also go with Palin.

She’s been purposely vague but has given a Sept/Oct time frame. Pundits are the ones doing the speculating.

Cain is an experienced chief executive. I think he would be able to work with Congress effectively, and the media would have to tread very lightly, methinks...

“I agree, but how is a “President Cain” going to push through reforms when he has zero experience dealing with an opposition Congress and a Hostile Media that will twist every word he says against him.”

If that’s the case then we should support either Newt or Santorum. They know how to get things through congress.

If Palin were to win in ‘12, you can bet a great number of Tea Party members would be elected as well.

IMHO, virtually nothing would change. The same wasteful spending, crony capitalism, and creeping socialism would all combine to produce more ongoing, slightly different flavored Tyranny.

I agree, for two reasons:

Historically, modern Republican Presidents (excepting Reagan) have done exactly that, and...

It's a bipartisan socialist tyranny, so it's okay, all the bureaucratic fiefdoms are Republican approved perfection in government.

How is a President Palin going to push anything through an elite GOP Congress that despises her?

Well, she has a record. She has dealt with a Legislature. She fought the crooked GOP Elites in Alaska and she won. She faced down Big Oil for billions and billions of dollars that went, not to her corporate patrons, but to the Citizens of her State.

She has an advanced P.H.D. from the School of Hard Knocks in dealing with the most Hostile Media in history.

Herman Cain has none of these things. No record to run on other than turning around a small pizza chain and and having a back-office job at the Fed.

Beautiful picture and likely a winning ticket.
If the GOP pisses her off, let her get mad and GO Rogue with Palin/Trump!

You said above you’re met with insults. Did you ever think it might be in response to what you say? Sometimes it’s not what you say but how you say it. But I have a feeling you know that. What do you expect? Why not just stay off these threads.

And she obviously didn’t want to announce a few months ago. Oddly enough, neither did Perry. Maybe her strategy will work. Maybe it won’t. Since she’s got more political savvy than I do, I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.

There are more than a dozen people on this site that think she’s terrific and want her to run, including the owner. And if we were going to invent a conspiracy theory about her it would certainly be better than that. I’m sure she’s quite aware of the timeline.

My point is simple.

If Sarah Palin had already announced, the conspiracy theories about states moving up their primaries to thwart Palin’s candidacy would be nonexistent.

Do you disagree with this opinion?

We’ve heard from the other GOP candidates and as for me, i’m not impressed. Not sure if she’ll get in this fight, but if she does ... ;o)

I’d support Palin over Perry if she convinces me of her vision for the future against attacks from other candidates.

I also won’t start dozens of negative threads about Palin, which is what Rick Perry has seen done to him by a handful of Palin/Romney supporters.

“Well, she has a record. She has dealt with a Legislature. She fought the crooked GOP Elites in Alaska and she won.”

Yes but she had to resign. You don’t see her debating Amanpour. She sticks to easy interviews with Greta and Hannity.

If she’s going to win, it will be because of her appeal and straight talk. Not her ‘vast’ executive experience and experience with the hostile media.

SARAH PALIN DOESN’T GIVE A DAMN WHAT THE MEDIA WRITES.

When will you EVER understand THAT?

Your point is moot. All in your head.
