OccupyWallStreet - Not
Myself | Oct 5, 2011 | Oceander

Posted on 10/05/2011 8:42:05 PM PDT by Oceander

A little tourists' cornucopia from the big, bad OccupyWallStreet thingey. I took the images below on my way to work this morning - discarded most of 'em cause they were just too pathetic - and thought I'd share them. My absolute fave is that earnest-looking upper middle class white kid in the bottom 4 pix (my "vignettes") - especially the last one, where he's so neatly folding his Buzz Lightyear towel - probably still smells like the Downy fabric softener mommie used when she washed it for him.

Please feel free to borrow as you wish, and to editorialize as you wish - but only so long as you isolate, polarize, and ridicule.

Lastly, just a warning - these pics are the small(er) versions of my originals. If you click on one, it will open up a larger version in a new window. Be forewarned, however: the larger files are about 1.1MB to 1.4MB in size.

Please; don't make me laugh. This gentleman doesn't understand money if he thinks that only gold and silver are money. Just another half-a$$ed idiot, like all of the other protest-monkeys there.

Many of these "useful idiots" have grabbed on to a particular symptom of the disease, but they're simply too blinded by their own false ideology - an old 1960s style socialism that should embarrass anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty - to even try to trace down the causes of the symptoms they've spotted.

That the Fed is merrily helping to destroy the economy is true - he manages to identify the symptom. But the cause? The reason? Liberal/leftist ideology - politically-driven Keynsianism - is what is driving the Fed's destruction of the economy. It is the crony-capitalism - the Barack Obamas and the Solyndras - that are destroying the economy.

The one group of people who are not destroying the economy are the so-called "Rich" - less those whose path to riches was through the swamp of cronyism, see Solyndra and Barack Obama - in fact, it is the "Rich" who carry the burden of paying for all the bennies these protest-monkeys either have now, or are demanding that they have.

A doctor who can identify the cause, but not only cannot identify the cause but in fact identifies something else entirely as the cause, is not only incompetent, not only half-a$$ed, he is downright dangerous.

This "gentleman" is dangerous because he is half-a$$ed. Just like this guy:

OccupyWallStreet - Intellectual Incoherence

Who couldn't even be bothered to do a little research, like spending 5 minutes checking up on the IRS' own Statistics of Income, which would have clearly shown that those earning $500k or more a year (just under 1% of the total individual income tax returns filed) earned 18% of total taxable income, but paid more than 27% of the total amount of income tax paid.

In fact, to say this guy is half-a$$ed is to give him a very large helping of benefit of the doubt. That is a benefit, furthermore, that the organizers of this astroturf affair do not deserve, period.

If you want off the ping list (an understandable reaction, after a certain point in time), please just let me know.

So, while mixing & mingling with the protest-monkeys downtown, I took some more "personal" portraits to show off the caliber (and, in general, the high socio-economic status of) the putative "protestors." I affectionately call these my Rogues' Gallery. Most of them are just boobs or dweebs - the so-called "useful idiots" - but some of them, mostly the older men, do not have the luxury of blaming their presence here on youthful exuberance and ignorance; they know what they're doing, they know why they're doing it, and they know that it will not accomplish any of their publicly stated goals; since they're willing to associate in public, it would be interesting to attach some names to some faces.

It's also rather interesting inasmuch as it's a good illustration of the generally high socio-economic status of these protest-monkeys; if they're hurting for jobs, homes, or cash, they certainly are hiding it well! Except for that one chappie in the ball-cap and hoodie, who seriously needs to either brush his teeth more often or not start chanting until he's completely finished eating his croissant.

It's a rather long list of pix - 31 in all - so hopefully you'll have the patience to bear with me.

Then there's this chap, who was strutting around on last Wednesday as if he were reviewing the troops in the field. He's not a boob or a dweeb - a "useful idiot" - he's SEIU, he uses idiots. Inquiring minds wonder ....?

Next, I just had to post these two as 400x600's because, well, because. The first, for all that it contains two protest-monkeys, is a tolerably nice composition, so I thought I'd put it up that way (the two individual protest-monkeys are in the gallery above as well):

This one, I think, speaks for itself (even if it's only the editorial comment I couldn't resist adding)!

And, finally, inquiring minds want to know, was this a terribly rash self-portrait, a mindless gesture toward openness and transparency, ...

ping (sorry, but I think I forgot to add the list to the last set of pix I posted up; if I didn't, and you got this twice, please accept my apologies).

Great photo journalism Oceander.

Thank you.

From your work, I get the sense of a “What are we doing here?” theme.

They’re awaiting orders.

Which, unlike the Tea Party, makes them Useful Idiots.

They are awaiting orders - that’s why I’m curious as to what that SEIU “gent” was doing - I tell you honestly, it looked nothing so much like an officer reviewing his troops in the field.

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, that is the sort of fight we’re waging now, and those of us seeking to defend ourselves from the depredations of liberalism and their bald-faced attempts to achieve by coercion and extortion what they cannot achieve by persuasion must see that and prepare to take the fight to them on those terms.

Yep. They love McDonald’s but are too good to work there. That’s for non-Ivy-leaguers. I have a friend who’s out of college about one year who was thrilled to get a job as assistant manager with Chick-Fil-A. Of course, he went to one of those loser state schools.

Well I guess we can expect them to get busted any day now...right after the creature that crapped on the Police car.

(thx much for the link)

In this day and age, tell your friend he (or she) could have a very good opportunity to turn lemons into lemonade. I don’t know about Chik-Fil-A, but I do know that McDonalds and BK generally have a pretty good managerial training program that will take you as far as you want to go. Working one’s way up the ranks to become a general manager, or to otherwise develop some serious skills at managing people, food, and service in a fast-food environment will give one a killer resume later on.

As for state schools: twice the learning at half the price.
