PICKET: (video) Evening melee breaks out between NYPD and Wall Street protesters
Washington Times Water Cooler ^ | 10/6/11 | Kerry Picket

Calm relations between the Occupy Wall Street protesters and the New York City Police Department only lasted so long since the labor unions packed up and went home after marching with OWS participants. Police used batons in the middle of what appears to be a disturbance at Zuccotti Park. It is still unclear and unconfirmed, as to what exactly triggered the disturbance between New York City Police and protesters in the financial district on Wednesday evening.

The media photographers appeared to outnumber the protesters.

Hey protestors, you should help the Unions out, especially the Police Union. Start by macing yourselves.

Been watching the antics from a protester point of view here:

http://www.adbusters.org/

And chatting with them (it’s hard) on http://chat.indymedia.org/ channel #occupywallstreet ...

It’s funny, you can watch them kinda guide the ‘herd’ from the combo of the streaming video and chat-channel. They are even monitoring the NYPD Manhattan PD channels via internet feeds for any tactical info!

Some of those punks have not bathed in days, so they could use a little shampoo (a WOOD shampoo, that is;)

Yeah...I’m thinking most of the guys are there to party, fight, and get some tail if they can....and the women (if you want to call em that) are too stupid to realize why the guys are there. No?

Any comments from Bloomberg?

You gotta wonder what kind of security chaos this could create.

Hit the protesters with a water cannon using salt water and I think they would put their cameras away.

Indeed. In fact it’s just as Bloomberg ‘predicted’, isn’t it? So curious...

They got just what they wanted - more publicity for their idiotic cause.

I hope the police beat the crap out of these idiots.

Break out the water cannons and clear the streets of these idiots.

Make no mistake about it.

They are Obama/Soros Goons out to distract the people from the disaster in the Economy thanks to Obama and the Democrats.

These are communist hoping to create chaos and distract the country.

As long as the smell stayed within a certain area. And anybody that has dealt with hippies knows that this is the truth.

I can’t believe a city as large as New York doesn’t use encrypted radios.

I can’t believe a city as large as New York doesn’t use encrypted radios.

IIRC, city agencies (PD, FD, EP, etc.) are STILL fighting over a way to overcome their inability to co-ordinate communications which was exposed (again) on 9/11/01..... and we're talking about in-the-clear communications here. Money, graft, jobs and patronage are at the root. If you add in encryption, the can of worms grows exponentially.

We are almost into a true fall season, with low temps. So I can’t see this going more than two more weeks. Standing out on a NY City street at 2AM at the end of October will entice folks to just move on.

This is infuriating, because in the wake of 9/11, billions of dollars have been doled out to first responders around the country specifically to overcome this shortcoming.

“Free” money from the taxpayers to towns and municipalities.

But the problem persists. And where did that money go?

Gee, I wonder.

I can’t think of one time that there was a conflict between tea partiers and cops. But these idiots have had numerous run ins already. Yet the media and the left continue to glorify them.
