“The muted GOP reaction to Sarah Palin’s departure from the Republican presidential field Wednesday suggests the party had moved on months ago.”

It could also suggest that her supporters wanted her to run for president more than being a kingmaker.

With her departure announcement yesterday, that huge noise was a collective sigh of relief — from the Republican elites.

Their next order of business will be to contain Cain.

If Romney is the nominee, okay — they can live with him or another Obama term. They tend to like the status quo — and the Republicans will probably gain the Senate, so they can control much of the agenda even without taking the White House.

She would have made the debates worth watching. Hopefully she can help to keep Romney away from DC.

I’m still stunned by this.

If she never appears on tv again, I would not care.

She needs to go spend time with her beautiful family. Perhaps if she had been around watching her kids instead of being gov., Bristol would have made better choices in her life.

Every time she is on tv or radio , all cheery, like nothing ever happened, it is more salt on our wounds.

Just go away Sarah. Just go away.

And the publishers, broadcasters, and reporters who yoked themselves to Palin were already moving on.

A media simpleton from Politico missing the irony of of his umpteen article about Palin, declaring the media is moving on.

If he's serious about no longer covering Palin , Ben can finally start to type with both of his hands.

Crazy the reactions she created and the attention she received, good and bad. I wish her all the best.

She's a force of nature, but she didn't looked as well in the last interview I saw as she has in the past.

Not a Palin hater, but I believe she made the right decision. She’s not ready....yet.

I do think she should have made this decision much sooner, however.

Cain taking a month off will benefit him immensely, if he uses the time to strengthen his campaign staff and sharpen his message. He clearly is the best viable candidate we have left, as conservatives, and a good look at his resume and life’s experiences shows me that he is the most qualified person running, in either party.

And at the risk of getting flamed, I will state the obvious...he is VASTLY more qualified for POTUS than Palin.

The Andrew Sullivan quote reminds me a lot of all the people here who are happy she’s not running. Look who you’re aligning yourselves with.

Ben Smith is an idiot.

We are reloading and getting refocused on 2012 lots of Senate Seats to take like about 15 Dems hitting the bricks and another 60 House seats works for me. Oh yes and a Republican President beating probably Hilary because Obama will be too cowardly to run.

Meanwhile, helping to prevent the community agitating marxist from getting his hands on power was one of our guiding goals once we realized the MSM was never going to do it. We lost vast tracts of time and not a few t-cells trying to understand and expose this obamination fraud and alas and tragedy for our nation that this monstrous horror saga is not over yet for another year and a half. Just thinking that he and his hyenas minions WILL NOT be a threat to this country very soon is a huge psychic relief if you care about America and the world.
