ALBANY, N.Y. -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered state agencies today to translate documents and provide interpreters in six languages for immigrants seeking public services.
The $1.5 million effort covered by state and federal funds will also provide the translations to illegal immigrants, depending on what services they seek, Cuomo said. Immigrants won't be asked about their federal immigration status.

Multi-culturalism will be the death knell of the United States.
A person cannot hold two or more allegiances ... it’s impossible.
This is the USA ... we speak ENGLISH [well, Americanized English] here. When people come here, they must learn English ... and all this translating forms into other languages crap does nothing but DIVIDE us ... and keep people from assimilating ...
This action is so wrong on so many levels. It’s unAmerican. It’s TREASONOUS.

If you live in Fun City and get one of those postcards the board of elections used to send out advising where/when you can vote, you should scan and post it to show in just how many languages that advice is given. I left nine years ago, but to the best of my recollection they were
English
Spanish
Chinese
Korean
Hindi (or whatever you call the language of India)
Russian (or some sort of Cyrillic alphabet)
That list is only from memory, so it may not be complete or totally accurate.
