THE FEAR FILTER
10-06-11 | sklar

A funny thing happened to Bob Dole in 1996.

During his campaign for President, liberals and independents saw him as angry, scowling, humorless & scary.

It was only after he had been SAFELY DEFEATED, that they noticed what a warm, wise man he (always) was.

It's because they were afraid of him being President. When he was no more a "perceived threat" to them, they became willing to listen to what he had to say and found that they liked him. It's a mega-important point and the reason I bring it up is because...

...For the first time since her National debut in 2008, Sarah Palin's detractors and the American voters who hated and opposed her WILL HAVE STOPPED FEARING HER.

She is no threat to be President anymore. The need to ridicule and slander her, based out of FEAR of her, will be over.

Americans , for the very first time, will listen to what she has to say without fearing that she could be their President. And because she articulates time proven Conservative Values in a simple wholesome and friendly way, those negatives against her may well dissipate. Many Independents may come to see Sarah Palin as the "Voice of Common Sense and the Common Man" during the 2012 season.

No matter how you slice it, beginning today, the Left, Independents and the Media Brainwashed Masses, will, FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, hear what Sarah Palin has to say without the distorting FEAR FILTER with which the Media and Democrats have blinded so many for so long.

After all, she could still run in 2016 and the Left knows it.

True, but that would mean she's challenging an ineffective RINO incumbent or following an Obama second term. Bad scenrio either way.

bingo. The GOP has done more to hurt Palin than any of Obama’s cronies.

“How can she get anything important “done” without any authority to do it?....”

That’s why her answer “You don’t need a title to make a change” never really made sense.....You do need the AUTHORITY to put the needed changes into writing and law.....Now I think that influence she was banking on will not be as potent as it once was....

The comparison to Dole is a poor one. Bob Dole left the scene after his defeat; Sarah Palin will continue to crisscross the country drawing large crowds and being a very vocal critic of our divider-in-chief. Sarah is a real conservative, Dole was a compromising legislator with a RINO like ideology. And there is the possibility that she could be a future candidate.

Sarah Palin will continue to draw the sling and arrows of our biased media and the establishment Republicans for quite some time to come – bet on it.

Her influence may still be greater than that of an ordinary citizen, but to imagine that she will be able to steer Congressmen in the right direction as a cheerleader is fantastical. She wasn’t able to prevail, even as a potential President, in stopping the horrendous budget deal. Bob

Yes, without AUTHORITY, hers will be little more than one more cry in the wilderness. That’s why her decision is so depressing. Bob

Bea, there is NO WAY she will ever play second fiddle as VP nominee again. Not that any candidate will want a major distraction from their own message, anyway. It’s gonna be Rubio, I guarantee. Bob

I’m late to the ballgame, but you made some very good points here, which parallel a lot of my thoughts. It seems to go against the grain of what many folks might expect, but I believe the potential is there for Palin’s influence to ‘increase’ rather than decrease, at least in the long-term.

Had she run, her unique ‘message’ (her brand of anti-corruption, anti-permanent political class, common-sense, free-market conservatism) was going to be drowned out by the endless media smears and nonsense... not unlike the way her own record as governor in AK was totally ignored during the last election. Her message is the EXACT right message for these particular times. It’s really not coming from any of the other GOP quarters very much. Although her megaphone is initially diminished a bit by her decision, there is fertile soil for her to really become a strong ‘voice of the people,’ and grow her influence unlike the way she’d been so stymied before. ... that is, if she plays things right.
