A funny thing happened to Bob Dole in 1996.
During his campaign for President, liberals and independents saw him as angry, scowling, humorless & scary.
It was only after he had been SAFELY DEFEATED, that they noticed what a warm, wise man he (always) was.
It's because they were afraid of him being President. When he was no more a "perceived threat" to them, they became willing to listen to what he had to say and found that they liked him. It's a mega-important point and the reason I bring it up is because...
...For the first time since her National debut in 2008, Sarah Palin's detractors and the American voters who hated and opposed her WILL HAVE STOPPED FEARING HER.
She is no threat to be President anymore. The need to ridicule and slander her, based out of FEAR of her, will be over.
Americans , for the very first time, will listen to what she has to say without fearing that she could be their President. And because she articulates time proven Conservative Values in a simple wholesome and friendly way, those negatives against her may well dissipate. Many Independents may come to see Sarah Palin as the "Voice of Common Sense and the Common Man" during the 2012 season.
No matter how you slice it, beginning today, the Left, Independents and the Media Brainwashed Masses, will, FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, hear what Sarah Palin has to say without the distorting FEAR FILTER with which the Media and Democrats have blinded so many for so long.
This is a very good post my FRiend! :-)
Don’t know if that will happen. After all, she could still run in 2016 and the Left knows it.
Plus, Dole’s a RiNO, whom Dems only hate during general election seasons.
Good post.
As Ronald Reagan said, ‘You can get a lot done, if you don’t care who gets the credit.’
You are right, now that she’s no longer a political factor, she’ll have a lot more willing ears.
There is a part of me that thinks we don’t deserve to win this election. The way our party and our country sat back and watched Palin get attacked with very few putting their butt on the line to defend her.
Whomever our next candidate will be, they will get the same treatment Pslin got by the media. And maybe that will be a good thing so that candidate and our party can figure out a way to overcome and defeat those tacticc.
Their hatred isnt for Palin, it is for us.
There will probably be less mocking of Sarah Palin now that she won’t be running for president in 2012. Which is to be expected, why waste breath on a political non threat? Unless she turns out to be Stumperette Extraordinare for a gaggle of other GOPers.
How the heck does anybody defend a smearing in the lamestream media? Being unable to answer in that media sort of limits the options. Fox did a darn good job of being fair to her.
Palin will have a voice but darkness always hates light. The hardcore left (the media is part of it) will always hate her because she is the polar opposite of them. Sarah gives them a fit on every liberal mental disorder they possess except one and they refuse to look.
Many of the radical left would have cheered her for what she did with the Oil companies in Alaska.
Palin will still have some influence but they will never like her if she is running against a rat. Dole was a “go along to get along” Republican. Every democrat understands a useful idiot on the other side of the aisle. The Republicrat meets them halfway and gets pats on the back at CBS/ABC/CNN. Meanwhile, the leftists agenda is advancing and they snicker behind the back of Dole, McCain, Simpson, and Graham. It’s been quite effective when you look at the past few decades. Palin is not Dole and never will be.
They are saving their long knives for any primary candidate not named Romney.
If they can secure the nomination for Romney the long knives will be out in full force but not until then. Romney will get the primary McCain treatment until he secures the nomination.
Until some Republican candidate on our side figures out how to handle the same type of media attacks that Palin had to endure, we will have a Democratic President for the next 12 to 16+ years. thats how vital this is for our country
Maybe so, but the problem is that we may not have a worthy candidate in the scary times. What if she receives more respect (a big assumption now that the quitter meme will stick) and our Presidential nominee sucks? What has been gained? No matter how one tries to twist the reality of her lost opportunity, it’s a devastating turn of events. Thanks for the pep talk, anyway. Bob
How can she get anything important “done” without any authority to do it?
The mocking will continue unabated. Now that they sense they’ve defeated her, the bullies’ derision will become more intense. The blood is in the water. What will hurt me the most is to hear her become a laughingstock. I already heard some of it this morning from the odious Nancy Kman of WILK radio in Scranton. Bob
“Until some Republican candidate on our side figures out how to handle the same type of media attacks that Palin had to endure...”
And that is what I always liked about Chris Christie. He is never afraid to take on reporters. He had this incredible ability to put them in their place real fast.
Those who attacked Palin were not being fair. They were being cruel, it was unnecessary and you are correct, I think those that did that will come to regret it, considering what is coming.
If I were a Sarah Palin supporter, when it all hits, I would drive the point home to whomever will listen, just so they know what they lost.
By her willingness to speak to her fellow Americans, she can influence them to influence their congressmen to do what they are supposed to do.
actually many Republicans will stop fearing her and listen to what she has to say. I’m not talking about the cronies that she had to put up with.
But there were many people who were very worried that she’d give Obama a very easy re-election.
