For those who care to see Sarah Palin in the race for president, a closed group was started to work towards encouraging her to reconsider.

I want to break this to you gently. Sarah has a very devout following on FR but when you consider the country as a whole, I don't think so. When freepers started putting her up as a savior I started asking people in my world how they felt about her. The news wasn't good ya’ll, she wasn't very well thought of and I asked a variety of people in different walks of life.
FR is kind of an echo chamber.

She’s waiting for Hillary to get 8 years older.

Jim, please allow this thread to be treated as an "Ecumenical" posting, free from disruptors who want to urinate on the cause.

I don't have strong feelings either way, and I haven't been involved in the arguments circulating around this forum for the past several months. But there's a certain irony in asking a thread about Palin to be treated as a religion thread given the accusations of hero worship...just an observation.

Imho, loyalty is a good thing.

Never ceases to amaze me how oblivious the Palin cynics can be to facts. And here I thought the whole purpose of cynicism was to achieve truth through objectivity. When attempting to see inside her soul and divine her secret motives, did either of you factor in her rejection of a second season of her Alaska show? An easy 10 million if she took it.

But no. She turned it down so she could continue being available for the race, and all the abuse associated with it, up to and including credible threats to herself and her family. This she did, thinking foolishly that the non-political class, her true base, would get it. Instead, she gives up all that easy cash, puts herself and her family on the line, and all she gets is this lousy jilted lover post.

So if it turns out she failed to run because the LSM was able to sell the “Evil Palin” meme to too many good folks like yourself, with no serious factual basis, then when we get our DNC picked candidate handed to us in Tampa next year, I suggest you look no further than your own mirror for the responsible party. The saying is true, a nation gets the leadership it deserves. Too bad. I was hoping for more.

During her interview with Mark Levin she said that a third party run would ensure an Obama victory so I think that's out the window.

The only scenario I could see is that if the Republican picked someone and then some news came out that would ensure an Osama victory then she could do it with a clear conscience.

I'm glad to see she still has a lot of supporters here. Keep your powder dry. We attack when she gives the word. No sooner.

I don’t have strong feelings either, but wouldn’t we rather get behind a candidate who is champing at the bit to take up the banner and get into the electoral fray than one who has to be begged to run?

This has been the rap about Christie and even Perry to some extent.

A pre-apology if I messed up this thread.

I do agree with that. But what I find more unsettling is that, in the midst of a primary, there is a mindset around here that would silence even well-intended criticism that is free of personal attacks.

Your #48 to Ditter’s reasonable post was disgusting. Good thing it was pulled.

If the only hope you have is to shut down free speech, well, what can I say?

I supported Sarah Palin. I have 4 DVDs to prove it (each costing $100). Perhaps I’ve paid for the right to have an opinion, I don’t know.

I wish Sarah Palin and her family well, but she gave us an answer, although late.

No one is stopping you from promoting your Earthquake, Draft Sarah thingy. If my post stops you, then maybe I should run for Pres. I only hope you soon will see that Sarah said no and in my opinion, she has hurt her brand.

And truly, her family does need her.

Best wishes to you and good luck with the draft Sarah movement. I wish it could have been.

If you want to move on, please do. You aren’t welcome here. Don’t push your luck.

That could be construed as a threat -which I don’t think it is.

You’re clearly not well this morning. You may want to consider seeking professional help. Good luck to you - I hope you can heal yourself.

I truly understand her anger (Gargantua). I went through it Wednesday and Thursday. She will move on, it just takes time, more for others.

I wish kGargantua and all Palin supporters well.. speedy recovery.

I guess I went through too many break-up in my past, I heal quickly. That’s how I felt after Sarah’s announcement.

We're all down in the dumps right now. But that shall pass. Trust that she knows what she's doing and her and her supporters are still a powerful force against The Dark Side.
