A family day out ended with Craig White claiming he was quizzed by police under anti-terror laws after taking a photo of his daughter
A Facebook campaign is calling for people to boycott a shopping centre after claims a man was questioned by police for taking photographs of his own four-year-old daughter.
Chris White took a picture of Hazel eating an ice cream in the Braehead shopping centre, near Glasgow.
A security guard told him it was illegal to take pictures in the centre

Scotland isn’t my concern.
Glasgow is in Scotland.
Since it’s the UK I could care less... although we’re not to far from it.
It happens here....Way too often. I should have said the West is turning into the Soviet Union....One photo at a time.
This is Scotland.
Plus, the guy was warned (signs) about No Photography, and ignored the warning.
Yes, it’s illegal to photograph things in many countries, like taking pictures of monuments or government buildings in Poland.
—Scotland isnt my concern.—
Ditto. And I came here just to say that. ;-D
I’m amazed how many articles I come across here about “rights” stuff and think, “Hey, they can’t do that!!!” and then realize it’s in the UK.
“Oh, Never mind. Yes they can.”
Actually, I believe most US shopping malls have rules about taking photos on mall property. It is not “illegal”, per se, but they can try to throw you out if you do it, assuming they care. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it enforced, though.
It is private property so they can do what they want. But it’s not “illegal”.
There’s one in Pennsylvania, too.......
No ice cream for you!
First reaction is that it must have something to do with a concern over homeland security and terrorists surveilling for potential targets.
The irony is that the terrorists are getting away with their surveillance by taking their pictures the way covert operators should be doing it, not openly like this guy.
Homeland security will always be a few steps behind, but that won’t stop them from being stupid.
I would be scared to death to take pictures of a grandkid’s dance recital, a daughter performing as a cheerleader at a high school sports event or my kids playing with other kids in the neighborhood for fear of being accused of, if not arrested for, being a pedophile. Common sense has gone out the window in our zero tolerance world.
Certainly those in the police & the government have no common sense. Our biggest problem is that they refuse to understand who the real enemy is, & instead treat everyone as enemies of the state.
Government nanny-state-ism and totalitarianism run amok.
Coming soon to a country near you.
(WAKE UP, AMERICA!!! DO YOU SMELL THE COFFEE . . . . . YET!!????)

Watch your mouth — I own one square foot of Scottish soil on the Island of Islay for purchasing a fifth of Laphroaig.
And the way it looks, some day I shall end up with an entire acre.
Scotland is also becoming more antisemitic with time. No Walker´s Shortbread for me today, thanks.
What a load of crap.
