Christie Endorses Romney Ahead of GOP Debate
Fox News ^ | October 11, 2011

Posted on 10/11/2011 12:57:52 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, just one week after definitively announcing he will not run for president in the 2012 race, endorsed Mitt Romney for the job Tuesday afternoon.

At a press conference in Hanover, N.H., Christie described the endorsement as an "easy decision."

The announcement came just hours before the Republican candidates gather for a debate nearby at Dartmouth College. In securing the support of Christie, Romney will have at his side a tough-talking governor who during his two years in office has built a reputation as a fiscal hawk not shy about taking on the public employee unions.

The former Massachusetts governor is enlisting Christie at a time when his front-runner status is once again being challenged. Romney saw his lead slip after Texas Gov. Rick Perry jumped into the race in August. Perry has since fallen back in the polls, but businessman Herman Cain broke through to within a few points of Romney in several recent national polls.

Marking a fast turnaround for Romney, the new endorsement comes one week to the day since Christie called a press conference in Trenton to end once and for all the speculation that he would make a late entrance into the race....

“But I don’t think it will help Romney much.
Christie’s appeal is his toughness, his personality, his ability to articulate his positions and get things done.
Romney has none of these. Next to Christie, Romney looks like milquetoast.”

Actually, Romney is going to use Christie as his point man. It will be like good cop, bad cop. Romney will look presidential and above the fray, while Christie goes out there and is the pit bull. Will be fun to watch Christie in action.

Christie also endorses the Guacamole Bacon Six Dollar Burger. Who cares what he thinks about Romney.

For future reference, the voters should remember who Christie really is — a RINO.

The only endorsement that counts is the endorsement of the voters. I cant wait until the primaries actually begin. All this pregame refereeing is BS.

Just for pure hard ball politics, this was a excellent move, with Cain riding him down in the polls. He pulled a brilliant move. No matter what happens at this debate, Cain and Willard will come off the winners nothing like dealing yourself four aces.

The Republican, Washington insiders are doing it again! THEY'RE choosing our candidate for us. We're not going to be given a choice. Romney will be forced on us. They do this every election! It's all about their own power and privilege.

Now, if we don't get out the vote for THEIR chosen guy, Romney, we risk another Oboma term, so they know we'll have to do as they say.

We'll have no one to vote FOR again. All we'll have is someone to vote against!
This bogus crap has got to stop.

I hope Cain, a government of us and by us, and for us will wipe the floor with Romney, whether the political Republican elitist in Washington like it or not.

We're not voting for Romney. Screw them. The Republican elitists are going too far this time. We're on to them.

If Romney is the nominee, Christie will be the VP. This has been the plan all along, IMO. (puke)

I live in NH. I just got a robo-call from Christie supporting Mittens. I don’t know the details because I only listened to the first 5 seconds.

When was the last time we actually had a candidate we could vote FOR? We're always being forced by the Republican elites to vote AGAINST the other guy, so THEIR man aways wins. That's the only choice we're "allowed" to have!

I always vote FOR a candidate...they never win, but my principles remain intact.

Whoa! Has anyone else got a robo call from Chris Cristie?

I am in Washington State and just got a call from Chris Cristie right now. He and Romney will be answering questions.

The RINO"S are doing everything they can to push their candidate.

and since he won’t debate the other republicans, most people won’t know how liberal he is. We freepers would but most Republicans, who voted for McCain, Huckabee and Romney in 2008, wouldn’t. They’ll just see him giving great speeches against Obama.
