NO.
They teach that Jesus and Lucifer were “brothers”.
They teach, “As we are now, God once was. As God is now, we shall someday be.”
They put Joseph Smith on the same level as Jesus Christ.
They are NOT Christians.
They are a cult.
Nice folks, but their theology is NOT Biblical.
In regards to the GOP nomination, the better questions is if Mittens is really a Mormon, or a slick opportunist willing to say or do anything to get elected?
Conservative should postpone this discussion until after the election.
Theologically, Mormons aren’t Christian.
Can an individual Mormon have come to a personal, salvational relationship with Christ? I don’t know; God will have to sort that our. I feel the same about Jehovah’s Witnesses.
For me, if a person, Baptist, Mormon, Catholic, Orthodox, even Methodist or Presbyterian (full disclosure, I was a Presbyterian for about two years), says he is a Christian, then, though I may otherwise disagree with his doctrines, I am willing to let God judge. If a person says he is NOT a Christian, then I can state, definitively, his eteranl destination.
But historically, and theologically, good people though they are, Mormons are not Christians.
Therefore, when an individual or group holds itself out as "Christian," it is a fair exercise to evaluate how their beliefs align with this historic affirmation. That's true whether Anderson Cooper likes it or not. Does Mormonism fit within the historic definition of Christianity or not? Do Mitt Romney's beliefs conform to what Christians over the centuries have affirmed or not? Does the word "Christian" have objective, propositional meaning or not? If it does, then isn't it fair to test the claims of those who call themselves "Christian" against those beliefs that have historically been associated with that religion?
Thanks for posting this!

No.
This is who the true Jesus is:
Colossians 1:16-17 (KJV)
“For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things,
and by him all things consist.”
Just because he is in first place, there is no guarantee that he will be the nominee.
Mormonism is considered a cult because it is outside the historical tradition of Christianity,
How about Republicans STOP PLAYING the RELIGIOUS LITMUS TEST GAME?!?!??!
If you’d like another 4 years of Obama, just keep playing this game!!!
I am not a Christian but I can tell you from studying comparatively for 30 years...NO. They are an off-shoot of Christianity...but no where near ‘orthodox’ in doctrine.
Mormons are Mormons. They call themselves Christians because they do not want people to know what Mormonism stands for.
If you have to cloak your belief by another name there is a problem with what you actually believe. It’s disingenous, dishonest, deceitful, and a major character issue.
Christianity is unique among religions in that it rejects any “works based” salvation.
Mormonism teaches that your salvation is worked out by what you do. If it is “works based”, it is not Christian.
They also have no crosses, and their “communion” is water, not a representation of the blood of Jesus.

BEARS REPEATING!!!!!!!!!!!
No. Duh.
great point.
I understand that. But the reason that this question is being asked is because of Mitt. He should be defeated not because of his religious beliefs, but because his record shows that he is not a conservative.
Are there Christians calling themselves Mormons, if “a rose by another name smells as sweet?”
I suspect some mormons are Christians, but Mormonism does not teach Christianity. It teaches a “parallel universe” equivalent that is similar but leaves out the cornerstone. It leaves out the most important part. The core.
That is what makes it so evil. If it didn’t claim to be Christian it would be just another man made religion.
C.S. Lewis was a pedaphile and you use his words to attempt to make your point?
How pathetic.
