Does anybody else notice the HUGE push among the media elites (Rove, Krauthammer, et al) for Romney, now that Cain is showing powerful gains? I have to say, the more they say Romney's a foregone conclusion, the deeper my heels dig in against him. Not because he's a Mormon, but because he WANTS it too much - has been running since the last election, and I WON'T have "them" dictate who our nominee will be.

I understand the Romney push coming from the RINO-led and Demrat-controlled GOP. I do not understand this willingness among too many conservatives to repeat the RINO mistake again. Is it really so hard to understand the GOP is not an opposition party to the demrats. It hasn’t been since Reagan left office.
It is inconceivable the national GOP can be retaken by conservatives. It’s demrat controllers will not allow it. The opposition void will be filled just as sure as vacuums tend to get filled. You all can scream in rage about third parties not being viable. But just as surely as God made little green apples that vacuum will be filled.
That is reality. Time we all faced it rather than pretend otherwise.
I agree - I have never seen such a rush to anoint a candidate, nor have I ever seen a “frontrunner” who routinely comes in second, third or worse in so many polls.
The Republican establishment needs to understand that they can lose support from the right if they go too far. But they seem hell-bent on making that mistake. Maybe they just want to go through the motions, and would rather lose the election than risk any kind of REAL reform.
It’s sad.
No but maybe it’s because I don’t see them much on TV but I do see Cain not being willing to go after Romney. I believe Cain will never go after him as he wants something from Romney.
No, I’ll likely write in a candidate. I know, I know, “the principle of the thing” is rarely a winning strategy (as I tell my clients frequently), but sometimes you just have to do what’s right in your heart even though you know it’s tilting at windmills.
We surround them. They are over! We the Silent Majority are roaring and they cannot stop us!
My prediction is that Cain will not step up attacks on Cain. They are in this together.
I think a big part of the problem is that many attractive and eligible conservatives decided not to run. Maybe they know it’s a losing battle?
I don’t know. But if Republicans, in the face of fierce opposition to Obamacare, nominate the one person who adopted essentially the same plan while governor, it will be hard for me to escape the conclusion that either they don’t want to win or don’t deserve to win.
It’s very sad.
Mr. Cain has his worts as well.
