I actually like Cain, but I think his 999 plan will sink him in the end. As Bachmann pointed out, the devil is in the details.
Having said that, I do think that Perry is probably finished at this point, barring a massive flip flop on his immigration position and a hard right shift on this issue, I don't know how he can recover at this point.
Gingrich will be the next man in line as the anti-Romney candidate.

Cain’s going all the way. Newt is a has-been who burned his bridges with the Conservative base.

Here is phase two of Herman's tax plan, which is on his home page, so get over the 9-9-9 sales tax.
Phase 2 The Fair Tax
Amidst a backdrop of the economic boom created by the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
The Fair Tax would ultimately replace individual and corporate income taxes.
It would make it possible to end the IRS as we know it. The Fair Tax makes our exported goods and services the most competitively internationally than any other tax system.

Bachmann pointed out, the devil is in the details. And when the people learn the details, rather then the disinformation put out by Candidates like Bachmann, they like the plan. So far from being a negative, 9-9-9 is a strength.
Notice when Cain made the comment at the debate that people want leadership and solutions, not "what I can get passed" plans he got the loudest and longest applause of the night

Good or bad, getting a 9-9-9 plan through Congress is unlikely so the argument of the plan sinking him is rather specious and problematic in execution; most sane voters would come to realize this. I look at other things about Herman - he'd NEVER push something like illegal amnesty, he'd NEVER push Obamacare, and he'd NEVER make the taxation structure more unfair to real-taxpayers, and he'd do something about this totally insane spending. Regardless, you're right. Perry is finished. They'll have to knock Cain out of the picture over my (and a few million others') dead vote.
