I think powerful Republican “elites” look at all things through the lens of electability ....if they appear to “hate” Caine it is really that they think he is un electable ....this explains why they love someone like “Romney” .....

If anyone is controversial they think they are un electable

Because he has not paid his dues. What did he do in 2008 or 2010??

They know he doesn’t have a freckin chance of beating Obama.

The man knows one thing: 9-9-9 and its being reported he stole that from a video game. Of course that is not true.

The republican voters better get their act together. First it was Bachmann, than Perry, and now Cain.

Cain knows nothing about foreign policy. I saw him do an interview the other night with Greta and she asked him about the Iran terror plot and the man was clueless. He had not study his talking points or oneliners for that issue yet.

The man is a talking and a con-artist just like Obama. The only difference is that Cain is bullshztting the republican party.

Our country is sinking and people are pushing a radio host for POTUS and one that was not even as popular as a Rush, Hannity, or Levin??

Give me a freckin break!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your first post!

I don’t think the GOP elites hate Cain at all. They just don’t think he can win. And if he wins, they know they won’t have the influence with him that they might with some other candidate.

Nothing really complicated or sinister, IMHO.

RE :”What career politician has accomplished what Mr. Cain has? Why do O’Reilley, Hannity, Rove, etc. hold Mr.Cain with such contempt?

Cavuto likes Cain. Cain was introduced by Cavuto as a regular guest on Your World years ago. With Beck gone from FNC, Cavuto is the only political opinion show host I can stand over there. (Baur and Kelly are very good but they play more the reporter role not opinionist.)

Hannity I gave up years ago, he pushed Steele on RNC

O Reilly GAG, he is only a Republican because he doesnt want his taxes to go up

Rove (doesnt have a show) thinks RINOs are most electable, as he is one.

They also consider it critical that he previously held higher office before prime time. I doubt they hate him. Lets not start sounding like those Palinistas.

I think Cain is the best of the lot. The others are duds.

He's had no political experience, but why is that a bad thing?

Look at the flip side: Why is it a bad thing to be elevated to CEO if you've never worked in a business? Politics is an extremely tricky business, and a person without experience in it will quickly have his head handed to him. Even Reagan made some blunders, especially TEFRA.

Some people learn fast. Sarah Palin made a couple inexperienced blunders running for VP, but now I'd say she's a political master. To his credit, Cain is doing pretty well in his campaign, but he isn't in the lion's den of the presidency. Maybe he can handle it, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable if he'd been a governor for a few years.

I haven’t heard any “hatred” of Cain, either from the media and Pubbies, or much if any here on FR. I’ve heard a lot of doubt that he can win without money or organization from the former, plus a lot of specific criticism on FR of specifics, like his horrible (IMHO) 999 plan. For hatred on FR just go to a Perry thread.

Establishment Republicans are what they have always been, ideological descendants of Hamilton and Clay. They look upon government as a vehicle to propel various insider business deals whether it is the ‘American System’ with subsidy pork for canal and turnpike construction or the Pacific Railroad and its vast cornucopia of graft and theft or Export/Import Bank subsidizing export of US industrial jobs. At best these people are ‘business conservatives’ which means they are all for lower taxes and limited regulatory interference in business operations. Ever since the triumph of the Party of Lincoln the GOP has counted on the ref, exive support of millions of white middle class Americans due to some real things such as support of lower taxes and a lot of phony flag waving rhetoric to smoke screen the real economic agenda f the party leadership(get elected, network with other politicians irrespective of party, and pass legislation that campaign contributors tell the politicos they want passed. The emergence of the Tea Party and non fake conservatives like John Rhodes or Halleck or Bob Dole enrages and terrifies the party insiders. The GOP version of the rat party black vote is wising up to the scam and are stampeding off the elephant plantation. The GOP professionals hate any sort of real grass roots movement as they can’t order it about and they loath the challenge to the morally debased beltway culture that thus movement threatens. Cain is just the poster boy for their disdain, hatred, and fear. This is just the start of a very long struggle and the Tea Party people have to undertabd thus is a protracted conflict and their opponents are professional liars devoid of scruples and basic ethics.

Same reason they ‘hate’ Perry I guess, because they always hate anyone in the top 3 unless their name is Romney.

Today Rush talked about something Eric Holder said referring to black people and Obama's election. Holder said it was "our turn to put our people into positions of power."

Republican Politicians are looking for their turn. They know they'll get it from Romney. Cain is his own man and they know that too. They fear that they will lose their turn.

You sound like a Dim. Different people in the GOP are for their candidate. That does not mean they “hate” some other candidate.

How about this question for you, why are you so confused that you would expect the party insiders to immediately adopt an interloper, ie outsider, candidate. You probably have views that are such that you would and should be very suspicious if your preferred candidate was a favorite of the GOP insiders.

So quit whining like a Dim. This is a competition. Everyone or at least many have their favorite candidate. They will of course criticize the weaknesses of other candidates. That does not mean they “hate” your favorite when they criticize him or her. And again quit whining like a Dim and let this play out. Then lets vote Obama out of office.

Stop with the word hate, the old GOP are owned and operated by k street and the chamber of commerce, they do not like the fact that someone may come along and hick their house of cards over.

Why do O'Reilley, Hannity, Rove, etc. hold Mr.Cain with such contempt?

Because Cain won't win and they're trying to determine which candidate will so they can back them.

He's had no political experience, but why is that a bad thing?

If Cain were hiring a CEO for his company, would he really hire someone with no business experience?

A president has to know how to respond when Congress doesn't do as he or she wishes.

Having some political experience makes it easier to get around the roadblocks.

The war for the soul of this country is not between Republicans and Democrats.

It is between Us and the liberal/socialist/communist cabal.

And it has been that way for the better part of a century now.

Republican liberals are WORSE than their Democrat counterparts, because people who only see the “R” will vote for them no matter what.

Conservatives, Patriots, etc., i.e., those of us who resist and reject everything to do with the Left, for the most part form a large part of the Republican base - and the so-called “elites” (they are NOT elite - nothing more than liberal snobs) are constantly trying to wrest control of the party away from us - much the same way as the hardcore communists that now control the democrat party did.

We are at war with these people; like it or not, it IS the way it is, and we damned well better wake up and start fighting them like the war that is.

Or we’ll lose the country, and it will take decades to get it back, if ever. The stakes are that high.

Outsiders, Tea Party folks, “our” people are a HUGE threat to the carefully crafter little conspiracy that the libs have put together. They’re out to crush us.

We should be out to the same, and more, to them.
